Gaining attention

1815 Words
Wendy's POV I dashed into my room with my frenzied head. Those two were still at it but jumped to their feet the moment the door banged open. “What the…” My breath was ragged and I was struggling to let words out. It almost seemed like I escaped from a fight. My hands rested on my box, trying to gain support from the tired marathon I just finished for nothing and fell off to the ground. Stamina had left me and I was more like an empty vessel, but for what? Nothing! They rushed to me immediately, her boyfriend grabbed me immediately and set me up against the wall. The half naked Sara with a torn skirt stroked my hair gently while James, her boyfriend, rushed to get some milk. “What happened?” She patted my chest softly, allowing me to breathe a little. A deep breath escaped my lips and my eyes shone into hers. “I was…” She patted my back softly. “Take it easy… just breathe…” She sat close and helped me with breathing exercises and when I was good, I began with the explanation that got her mad at me. “I heard the bell for class. So I ran through the hallway and crashed into one silly kid. He asked me to kneel and beg him, but I shoved him off and kept running back here and fell…” “What?!” What did she expect me to say? That I ran from a fight or something? “Wait, so it's because of your silly behavior that made me stand up and come help you? Because of the silly bell for class right?!” She tossed her hand against her face and covered it in frustration, nodding her head softly. “I'm… I'm sorry…” “Get off me!” Her angry footsteps echoed down the hallway as she muttered angry words. What did she expect from me?! Well, at least I didn't sustain any injuries… I gathered my books and rushed out again with my bag. However, the hallway I just passed through now seemed different. Although its unchangeable features never left–the painful moanings of s*x in the dark corners, the smelly scent of smoke from cigarettes alongside other drugs and most especially, the annoying rustling sound of their silly poker… Aargh!! But the whole place now seemed different. I didn't know where I last came from. I mean where I left that boy, what was his name again… Alvin, yes, Alvin… Oh God, now how will I get to class? My eyes scanned my wrist, watching the ticking clock move each passing second and my frustration increasing as I scurried back and forth the school, all in vain. After walking for a few more tiring minutes, I stopped and sat down again in frustration, my head buried in sorrow. Suddenly, I felt someone's skin brush against mine. When I raised my head, our eyes met. His eyes glowed like embers as it locked on to mine, his broad chest captured my fancy soul… Wait, what was I doing? Fantasizing about a man's body? Come on, snap out of it! “What are you doing here?” He asked politely, his voice tender like snow. “I'm lost. I'm looking for art class…” My quivering voice touched his warm heart. He offered me his hand like a royal. I must say, if not for the fact that we're still on earth, he's an angel. “What's your name, my dear?” He had manners and understood courtesy. For the record, he is the hottest and sexiest kid in the school. But look at the way he's so polite. Like, I mean… A total newbie like me, getting help from someone special like him… “I'm Wendy. And you are?” He smiled warmly at me. Those smiles, there's definitely something hidden behind them. To be honest right now, I was lusting after this sweet boy. I can't believe it, but it is what it is… “I'm Sebastian… Nice to meet you…” Instead of offering me a hand shake, he wrapped his arms around me and walked with me down the hall. Apparently, we were in the same class and supposed to be attending the art class together too. The moment we walked in, all eyes turned to us. He didn't bother, he just took me like a queenly personality and walked majestically. Their eyes shone in shock as the sweetest and hottest boy had fallen for me–the one they called a peasant with cheap clothes… Their cold gasps filled the air and the teacher wasn't even bothered about it. Like, he didn't seem to care about the fact that we just walked in when class had already begun and their disturbance… This was really not a school. While we were coming, I saw a red marker too with the inscription–off limits for girls… I wanted to ask him, but I felt it would destroy our fancy conversation and I just brushed it off. It was fun having someone walk me down to class like a husband of my own, taking me down the aisle and his voice was just so sweet… However, the next problem now was that the seats were filled. It seemed like everyone had a seat of their own and mine wasn't reserved for me yet… I don't seem to understand… Because I noticed once he entered with me, an occupied seat was made empty and he sat down, like it was his own. As for me, I just stood confused because their scowly faces wouldn't even let me go closer to them. Why did they hate me so much? They don't even know me and they've already hated me this way? Well, it's up to them. I kept standing, trying not to obstruct anyone's view when he turned back again at me and saw me standing. His eyes shone in shock as he rushed to me, further angering the growling wolves. “Why ain't you sitting, Wendy?” “Uhm, I couldn't find an empty chair…” “Oh, don't worry. Immediately after the class, I'll go make a query for one to be prepared for you…” “Awwn, that's so sweet of you…” I suckled on my fingers nervously, my eyes glowing with shame. The girls around me just smirked and made silly grumpy grunts and murmurs, but that didn't bother me, not even for one sec… “Over there. There's a free seat. You can use that one. After today's class, it's gonna be settled…” I wanted to hug him, but I couldn't. The reactions I was getting from talking to him alone was heating up, hugging him would mean a total eruption. When I got there, I was about to sit when a bully growled. “You can't sit here. It's reserved for someone else…” What do you mean? I ain't seeing nobody here, man? Well, I didn't want any more drama… I peacefully left and went back to where I was standing before. He turned back and saw me again, still standing and frowned. “What's the matter?” I explained to him and he took me by himself and sat me down on the chair, delivering a stern lecture to the annoying boy. “Don't stand up here, irrespective of whoever comes… is that clear?” I nodded with a puppy face, my silly eyes glinting with lust. As class went on, he occasionally turned back and winked at me. We were just behaving like a bunch of idiots and enjoying the moment, despite the scoundrels that were all around me, ready to eat me at the slightest opportunity. However, our beautiful moment was destroyed when the door flung open. It was him again, that same kid that asked me to kneel before him, the same one that dropped that form, back at the bar. His striking appearance filled the room. His charm was strong and seeped into the skins of all that were present. The teacher seemed to wince softly as he walked in. Who the hell does he think he is? Why can't he just be like Jared? How comfortable does he feel with everyone scared of him? His perfume filled the room and for real, it was choking. I can't deny, I was literally struggling to breathe. He stood there at the door for a minute, his poised eyes fixed on mine. I didn't bother looking at him anymore. He was a total d**k and I don't have the strength for him now. Besides, the class was about to get interesting before he interrupted. Whispers flew around me… ‘Get up…’ What? Why?! Who is he that I should get up for? He's already made me hate him… I can stand up for anyone, but not him! After standing for a few minutes in frustration, his mighty heeled shoes clicked against the floor softly, his eyes fixed on me. My heart raced in fear, but it also stared with hate, planning what to do to him if he dared mess with me… I had Sebastian to my side, so… what was there to fear? He stood right before me, his towering presence and silhouette occupied the space around me. “Get up!” How dare him command me? The f**k he thinks he is?! I ignored him at first, I didn't even look at him, pretending to scribble down something on my paper when his hands slammed into the table and shattered my papers. “I said get up!” The anger was unbearable and I didn't realize when the words escaped my lips. “What is wrong with you?” The complimenting reply was the sharp sound of his palm against my face, sending me straight to the ground in pain. It was followed with corresponding tears and whimpers as I laid on the ground. Their roaring laughter filled the air as I laid in shame and he kicked my legs off the chair, slamming it to the wall and sat majestically on the chair. His aura was piercing and it overwhelmed my broken heart. My head was buried in shame when I heard his body thud against the wall. The same intense slap kissed his cheek hard as Sebastian set him up against the wall again. The other students roared in ecstasy, turning the class into a frenzied zone. “Now you listen to me carefully, Damon! Being head of student council doesn't mean you can do whatever you like to whoever you like! You don't get to touch her, ever!” He slammed him off into the post. His hands reached out to me and I grabbed it quickly. “Come on, let's go…”
