TBWL#29: Who am I?

1063 Words
No one can tell what will happen between who you are and who you have become. No one can follow this lonely part of the blue hell. There is no magic sphere to look into your future. You simply cross to the other side, or what if you are stuck on a pedestrian street at night and cannot move faster because of the pain? What would you do if you wanted to be on the brink of death, with no hope of salvation? Would you look death in the face and wait until death blinks first? Do you think this will make me feel brave and invincible?" ------------------------------ CALIXTO's POINT OF VIEW  ---------------------------- Bang! My motorbike hit a passerby, it's not a zombie but a woman who appeared out of nowhere. No one gives me a head up because this area has no surveillance personnel. I lost control and was thrown away and rolled a few circles on the ground.  "f**k! O-ouch!" I could not help but yell because of the unbearable pain in my right leg. I tried to get up and tried to touch my right leg, but it hurts even more. I managed to stand up, after trying several times. I picked up my UZi, and approached the body I clashed with. It went flying in the building. Sadly, its throat had accidentally struck the protruding steel.  I headed to my motorbike, it is really in bad shape, the same goes for my walkie-talkie. I looked around, it's quite far from Jiro and the rest. How am I supposed to get out of here alive...? "Damn!" My eyes widened, and it almost fell from my socket. There is no mistake, my eyes are not playing with me... what I am seeing from afar is a boney, a nightwalker standing at the end of the road, approximately twenty (20) steps away from me. I'm doomed! I have no amino... That woman who caused me trouble had died, yet I could not stop to resent her. The more I thought about her, the angrier I was. If I had not collided with her, I would not be in this hopeless situation. My motorcycle was crushed like a pulp due to the unsolicited impact. My UZi has no amino. My walkie-talkie had turned into a piece of junk. I am standing in the middle of a cold empty street, and lastly, my left leg is in pain. What else could have made this night worse for me? I can feel the eerie blowing of the air as if it is warning me about my death. I guess this is really goodbye. I watched it head in my direction... I closed my eyes, then the next thing I heard was nothing but a whistle of the wind. I saw it coming to me...  "What the hell do you think you are doing? We lost contact with you. If I had come a little too late, you would have become a full course meal of this zombie." Someone shouted, and I recognized his voice... I opened my eyes and felt relieved after seeing Jiro on his motor. "I found him. Come here at approximately 60 east, 30south, 15 west, and 18 north, We are on a narrow street; a street corner turning into an alley." I guess I'm quite lucky. Who would have thought that in this hopeless situation, Jiro would appear and save me? Strange, it feels like I am the heroine in a movie or in a book who would always receive help from supporting characters. What the hell am I spewing at this hour?  "Ride on," says Jiro as he maneuvers his motor closer to me. To meet him halfway, I walked with caution since my left leg was injured. I was startled when he aimed the ZS-9004 M4 powerful compound xbow with high speed for shooting and hunting Archery at me. s**t, he must have misunderstood my injury to a zombie bite. "W-wait, I am not bitten or what. It was an injury brought by my motor debris." I explained before he shot me with that dangerous arrow. I don't want to end up like that nightwalker who was taken down by an arrow on its temple. "Are you sure?" he looked at me suspiciously.  "Come on. If I was bitten, I would ask you to kill me instantly." "Alright, I trust you, buddy." He hung the archery back on his shoulder.  "Let's go. You are bleeding. We will be in trouble if we stay here. We have to at least do something about your injury."  When the truck arrived, Jiro ordered someone from our group to do the first aid on my leg once I stepped inside the container truck. We bought a medical supply just in case things like this happened. Preventing infection on the fresh wound is a basic necessity, I am glad we are fully equipped.  "Are you sure it's not a zombie bite?" Lore asked while  Although I removed the pieces of the shattered side mirror on my legs, it still hurts like crazy. I had stopped the bleeding by tying my leg using my shirt as a tourniquet. Then Lore removed it, but I was surprised that it healed faster than I expected. Although there were a few traces of cuts, surprisingly it did not hurt anymore, it is as if nothing had happened. "It's just a minor cut but it had started to regenerate blood clot outside," says Lore.  "You scared me, dude. I thought you were grievously injured. Look at you scared over a few scratches after beheading zombies." Jiro tapped my back and started laughing his ass out.  It looked like I'd made a fool out of myself, I swear! it's not just a few scratches. Did my eyes deceive me? My legs almost looked like a dart a while ago. I am bleeding like hell. I was really injured a few minutes ago, but now I am fully recovered. There must be something wrong with my body. I had witnessed this experience way back when we fell into the cliff. Strangely, I heal faster than an ordinary person.  Why do I feel like it has something to do with the capsule and that thing injected into me? Am I still a human? or Am I one of his majesty's lab rats?
