"This rotten world consisted of darkness and lightness; predators and prey. Will you be that black that swallows the light, or will you be the light that eradicates darkness? You either run or hunt. If you think zombies are the ones who are only capable of prey hunting, you were wrong."

Calixto's POINT OF VIEW
----------------------------
We rested well and healed our wounds. There is no time to delay our goal. Time is ticking like a poison that kills a body that ingested it.
"Are you ready?" Jiro asked.
"There is no time to hesitate. We are going to die anyway. We should at least make use of life to save the next generation," Romer replied while gearing himself with amino. It would not be a problem to use a gun since it's a silencer. We are aware that creating ruckus would only call their attention. We are going to eliminate them slowly.
Aside from that, we are going to hunt a nightwalker later. Our reason for doing this is for the sake of science. This destruction started with science's inhumane experiment; therefore, this shall cease too by science.
We brought five of Jiro's men and left the girls. They are responsible for the research. Lore joined us; at first, I asked her to stay, but she insisted. I don't want her to join our hunt because I fear her safety. I can't bear to see her die nor devour.
"Are you really going to join us?" I asked Lore again.
"I'm willing to die. Don't you dare hesitate to kill me if I became one of them." Her eyes are blazing like fire. She's freaking serious about this zombie hunt.
I heaved a heavy breath and tapped her shoulder. "Just don't die before my eyes."
"You should tell that to yourself, coward."
I don't know what she meant upon calling me a coward. I have no time to weigh her remark; whether she's talking about me hiding my tails after her confession last time or that time back then when she always saved me from near death, we are in a hurry.
We arrived at the DOST laboratory facility. There is a machine called Proscisca that is able to monitor how fast the movement of the fluid in the zombie's body is. Even when we beheaded a zombie, their body still reacts for a certain time. We are hoping to find a lead to our hypothesis. We have a theory that the vaccine has something to do with the daywalker's ability to heal their wounds, but it always failed to stop the zombification. Also, various vaccines were released and we assume that each vaccine has a different effect on the body of zombies.
That is all a hypothesis that is yet to be proven with several trials and errors. In order to achieve that result, we have to bring a few zombie bodies, especially the body of the nightwalker.
"This might be a nuisance. Are you really all prepared to die for the sake of the research? If you are afraid, you may stay here and wait for us to return. We only need one man to remain here who will serve as our driver in case of a miscalculated incident. "
We are all determined, hence we proceeded as we planned. We have a radio for communication. We entered the building and anxiously made a careful step. We kept ourselves wary even of small sounds around us. You will die if slack off, this is a game of our senses to unite with our surroundings.
This place was abandoned with few unused types of equipment. I bet there is a lot of equipment here that would function well, but those aren't our goals for coming here. Bringing unnecessary items will slow our movement.
We are divided into 3 groups. I am with Lore and Romer. Jiro is with his professors. The rest of his men are in a single group.
I hit the door open with a small gap, but Romer kicked the door hard and made it wide open. Now the zombie could attack us openly.
A woman with black, shoulder-level, curly hair reached out towards us, then followed by a second, the third... There are ten zombies heading towards us. Finally, the first zombie was pushed out by other zombies. Soon it lost its balance and fell to the ground. Its fellow zombies had stepped on its back, making it hard for her to get her feet on the ground again. The second and third zombies are now a few inches away from us, enough for my sword to slit their throat.
Lore and I had started unleashing our katana and run it on the necks of zombies. This katana has been my favorite tool now, it is much easier to kill zombies at once.
There is no backing off, we stepped forward and headed on battle with the remaining five. It would be better to kill them before they attack us all at once. Since they are a bit slower than humans, killing them with great speed is no problem.
We had successfully killed the ten zombies who were stuck in the room. Now, it's time to find that thing. We do not know the exact location of that thing, but someone from Jiro's men used to work here, thus that thing could be somewhere from one of the rooms in this laboratory. It would be better if that man could remember the exact place where those new requisite machines are stored.
Our goal is to get that machine and successfully retrieve it. Then, we would pick random sample bodies of killed day walker zombies. But the most complicated mission is capturing a nightwalker, the most dangerous type of zombie. We might lose our men today or we all might be all killed in one swoop. There is no assurance of how many night-walkers might appear.
We should overcome this and return to our hideout safely... we should live for the sake of this damn country's future. Most importantly... I need to find out what happened to my family.
My intuition is telling me that my father is alive up until now. He is an ambitious man who does not want to let go of this country. I am sure he is hiding something on his sleeve, in order to do that, I must find out what causes this apocalypse.
Let this research be successful, I believe there is still hope for this land. But before thinking of anything else, there is an urgent matter we need to resolve first. These fuckers are coming in to trap us inside this room... their numbers are increasing.
Fuck! This is going south.
