Chapter 30: Ailis, Part 1
A meeting brought the alliance of clans back to discuss the coming battle. Their first attacks had been sweeping successes, and some of the clans already had big heads as they boisterously praised each other. Ailis sat in the middle, wearing a subtle grin as she silently watched her men and the other clans' cheery exchange. Brody was sitting at her left and tried to say something. She shook her head, gesturing that she couldn't hear him, and he leaned in to whisper in her ear. "After the battle, have ye chosen to marry me?"
