After I say my goodbyes, I can feel Angelo's presence looming behind me. His energy is impossible to ignore, a force of nature that wraps itself around me, even as my mind fights to shake off the fear Matteo's words instilled. The way he spoke to me, with possessiveness and pride, as if I were his and it was Angelo who was getting in the way of him being with me. I sensed rivalry between the two of them, and it’s something I’ll definitely have to ask Angelo about, sooner rather than later.
I then stare at Angelo with a mix of emotions: irritation, relief, surprise, and anger. For some reason, I feel everything all at once.
He looks down at me for a moment before he turns to walk away, his bodyguard remaining close by as if they're waiting for me to follow after him first
