The Magical Roof John's P O V : " See I told you he likes you ", Sky said from the other side. " Like my ass, he is just being nice, Sky. Besides, I am just going to deliver the pastries and then come back home straight ", I said. " What a bummer ! ", She groaned. " Look, I have seen the way he looks at you, as if he is willing to eat you up at anytime. Besides, how are you going to explain all his visits to the shop ", she said. " That's just who he is. A creepy, very creepy person ", I said, remembering all his weird visits. " Say what you want, Johny boy, but I have a feeling that he is definitely into you. Now I'm gonna binge on the new series, so gotta go. Byee ", she said and hung up the phone. I stared at the phone in disbelief. My thoughts wandered about what she just said. Is he really into me ? Was that why he was frequently buying pastries ? Was that the reason for him behaving so strangely ? I never thought about it in this way. He looked real nice with his broad shoulders, well-maintained physique and beard. He looked like some model or specimen crafted with the utmost perfection. There is no way a guy like him would be interested in me. I fell asleep thinking about all these things. I was busy preparing the batter while my grandma was helping me by preparing different flavors of creams. We decided to make ten pastries of each flavor, which is strawberry, vanilla, butterscotch, chocolate and red velvet. It took us almost three hours to make these but it was worth it. The whole kitchen was filled with the sweet aroma of cake and creme. Now all that left was frosting and icing, I urged my grandma to take a rest and leave the rest of the work to me. Once everything was done, I put them in the refrigerator and sat with my grandparents. We all talked about a bunch of different things before having our lunches. Soon it was half past seven and I went to take a shower. After drying myself, I put on a blue shirt along with denim jeans and denim shoes. I carefully held all the pastries and a little present for his house-warming party. I took each step slowly and became a bit nervous seeing all the vehicles parked in front of his house. I welcomed myself in and saw all these people grooving to the sound of a slow beat. My eyes searched for him and I felt relieved once I saw him. He immediately came towards me and took the packages from my hands. I gave him the present and he thanked me. He insisted on spending some time here, so I stayed just for his sake. Even though I was nineteen, I wasn't allowed to drink, so I took some of the soft drinks. When more people started coming, I decided it was my cue to live and I was about to but he interrupted me saying he wanted to show me something magical. He held me by my hands and dragged me upstairs all the way up to the roof. The air was chilled and the sky was shining with stars. Isolated from all the crowds, music, sweat, this roof was actually magical. I looked at him and saw he was struggling with something. When I asked him what was wrong, he just looked at me with those eyes. " Here goes nothing ", he said out loud and came very closer to me, our faces merely an inch apart from each other. I was feeling excited until he said something and I knew it was too good to be true.
