Chapter 11 Decorative lights and illuminants lit up the extravagant mansion of the Dragon’s General. The hall was crowded with high class citizens of EastHill conversing with one another in such a classy manner. Servers walked around with trays filled with glasses of champagne, whiskey, red wine, and other sorts of expensive beverages. Maids were also on standby, Incase the guests needed their help or their attention. Everything was neatly set and stunningly in order. The party was going smoothly. At different corners were the Hales family distributed as planned, each discussing with a member of the Great Five Families. “I heard your daughter, Lorraine is now the most prettiest lady in EastHill?” A woman had asked Charlotte, a woman from the Stones Clan. “Yes,” Charlotte responded in a mild tone. Not really sure why she was asking, she had talked about her family getting in deal with theirs, so she’s quite befuddled on why she’s asking about her daughter, or the kind of answer she’s about to give to her proposition. “Well for what you asked to be done, I would love for a union between her and my son; Callan.” She proposed, taking a sip out of the champagne liquid poured into her glass cup as she tore her gaze away from Charlotte. “Excuse me?” “Do not pretend as if what I said didn’t get inside your ears, I suggest you go think about it and come give me a befitting response. Here’s my card,” She said, sliding across the table a card before her face darted away from Charlotte totally. An action that meant she’s done sharing her attention with her. Charlotte sighed before turning back and walking away from her with the card. She walked past Vance who was engaged in a conversation with another member of the family he’s assigned to discuss with. A gloomy expression visible on his face, “For the last time Vance, unless your daughter; Lorraine marry our son, there’s pretty much nothing I’m willing to do for your family.” He said back to Vance. Who didn’t really accepted his response so well, thus initiating the gloomy look on his face. The same happened with Oscar and Royce, they all wanted Lorraine to marry their family before they do anything for them. It was a disturbing news. The party didn’t turn out the way they all wanted it to pan out for them, everyone just wants something for themselves. However, the time for the Dragon General to show his face is near, to make a speech about his arrival and address the good present citizens of EastHill, before they all will begin presenting to him the welcome gifts they had brought with them for him. But Avon was nowhere in sight, not even in his mansion. Or any where near the party thrown in his name. Moments earlier before the party. Inside Avon’s office. A knock jerked him out of his thought, his eyes moving away from the g*n laid in his palm, over to the door wondering who was there. “Come in,” he commanded, his voice coming out emotionless and plain. His reframed himself and the chair he was sitting on, slapping away the remnants of the foams inside the pillow he shut. He slapped them over to the ground, gazing up and expecting the one who came to meet him to enter. The door creaked open with his personal assistant coming into view, his hand hanging behind his back as his head went down bowing to him. “General, I’ve got something for you.” He informed, keeping his head bent still. “Okay?” “The leader of the g**g, those sent to annihilate your family, I’ve gotten enough informations about him. Where he lives, his family members, everything asked to know about him.” He responded, the courage to lift up his head and look at Avon finally seeping up his body. Avon opened his mouth to say something before Finn beat him to it, saying, “Everything is already sent to you, just check your emails now, General.” He had said. Avon shut his lips, his eyes narrowed down to his computer, he made some clicks and the information came out broad to his eyes. His pictures, his family tree all available in the email. A sinister smirk curled up his lips as he stood up from his chair. He dipped the g*n he was holding right into his pocket. “Sir where are you off to? Your party is about to begin in the next few minutes.” Finn said, reminding Avon in case he was planning to get out now. However, Avon ignored, walking past Finn and out of his office, he walked straight down the hallway, through the stairs, past the foyer and straight outside in his compound. Finn did a good job running after him to match his pace. “You, we’re going out now!” Avon pointed at a man, and said to him. He bowed his head in accordance to his order and headed immediately towards a car; there were a lot of different cars parked inside the compound; that includes a limousine and other varieties. “General, you can’t go there right now, there’s function in his house today. His grandfather’s birthday is today.” Finn spoke up before Avon could enter the car, his last resort to convince Avon to stay for the sake of his own party. “That should mean everyone in his family is present.” “Yes, but your party, it’s starting moment from now and you’re going away, which would means I have to come with you now.” He whined, his face holding a frustrated expression. “No Finn, you stay back and head the party, I won’t be around when it start, but might arrived at the middle, be sure to keep it smooth.” With that said by him the car door got opened by the chauffeur and he entered siting down quietly with his face void of emotions. The car began moving and soon out of the compound driving through the lane of EastHill. Turns were taken, and drift were made but they successfully made it to their destination. Inside the small house was crowded with an old man dressed quite nicely with a cake in front of him. Surrounding him were six other people, urging him to make a wish and blow out the candle on the cake. Avon’s eyes darkened, as he stepped out of his car and move right to the entrance. He rang their doorbell, adjusting his pose to assume that of a gentleman.
