Adelia's Pov
The walls of the castle-like building were high, so high that they surrounded the house like a fortress. I sucked in a breath as I stood by the gate which was just as high as the walls and with another gasp for breath, I knocked at the gate.
As I waited for a reply, I wondered why I was this nervous to see Aiden. The moment I had been waiting for was finally here, yet anxiety consumed my entire being. I tried to assure myself that I would do just fine but the uncertainty of Aiden's reaction to seeing me made me more nervous.
The last time we had spoken to each other was on that dreadful day I rejected him. How would he react when he saw me again? Would he pull me into a fierce hug and tell me how much he had missed me or would he yell at me to leave?
