The whole group, minus Max, tensed as August exited with a strange man beside her. Ivon could smell something that disturbed him. Something that disturbed him more than the fact that August’s scent had changed once again and this stranger smelled like her. No, he smelled Linda and it was more than he could take. He stepped away and leaned against the wall. August was at his side in a moment. Great. “I’m fine,” he said it through gritted teeth as he tried to hold his breath. “What’s wrong, Ivon?” He shook his head. “Fine,” he repeated as he stepped away from her.
