Not Quite A Mistake

Chapter 11-Javier

Did you think that you harming Lilly consistently would go unnoticed?"I said slowly,looking her dead in the eyes.Her reaction was what gave her away.Fear.Fear of being discovered.My hands clenched around the glass and I felt hatred,pure hatred.

"Javier?What are you talking about?I would never lay my hands on Lilly!"she yelled and stood up abruptly.

"Keep your voice down and take a seat.Lilly is resting,"I glared.I glanced to the opening elevator and Harres walked in with a briefcase in his hand.Perfect timing.

"Got off earlier than expected,"he smiled and I stood up and shook his hand.

"Harres,welcome,"I gestured for him to take a seat and he took one on an armchair.He greeted Willow politely but she was too busy panicking to return his greeting.

"Okay so I brought the files you told me to and the contract.All we have to do is get a date with the judge,"I nodded and took a seat again.He took out the papers and I began reading them over.The contract stated that Willow and I would diminish the contract we had signed in which we agreed for her to be Lilly's caretaker.

I signed on the bottom and slid it over to Willow and put the pen infront of her.

"You know I would do no such thing,Javier.I love Lilly with all my heart!For God sakes she's my niece!"she bursted out.My eyes darkened and I glared at her.

"Everything that happened is a misunderstanding.Lilly just plays rough and I have to patch her up.I don't hurt her!"she looked frantic and it honestly disgusted me.I was disgusted that I was so negligent and didn't notice that this psychopath was doing horrible things to my daughter.

"That's enough.Sign the contract.I will see you in court.Get your things and get out,"I said and she look at me with tears in her eyes.

"Javier...I love you.Don't do this to me,"she fell to her knees.

"Sign the f*****g contract or there will be consequences,"she stood up and took the pen in her hands.She signed hesitantly and I grabbed the contract and handed it to Harres.

She stood up and went to her room and retrieved her stuff.

"Wouldn't have imagined that she would get violent with her sister's kid,"Harres said and I shook my head.

We spoke among ourselves for a few minutes.I saw black bags sitting infront of the door but Willow was nowhere in sight.I stood up and walked to Lilly's room.I threw the door open and my eyes widened upon the scene.Lilly was thrashing on the bed and Willow was suffocating her with a pillow with a murderous look on her face.

I snapped out of it and tackled Willow to the ground.She was kicking me and thrasing under me and out of rage I punched her.

She went still and stared at me shocked.

"Harres,call the police!"I yelled and I heard him run towards the room.

"What-what the hell's going on here?!"

"Just come hold her down,"he did as I said and I jumped up and ran towards Lilly.She was sobbing on the bed and had coughing fits.

I embraced her and rubbed her back.

"I'm so sorry,Lilly.I'm so sorry,"I picked her up and took her to the kitchen.I gave her a glass of water and picked up my phone and called the police.

"911 What's your emergency?"

"Someone attempted to murder my daughter.They are currently at my establishment,"I said and described the situation as best as I could.

"What is your location sir?"

"Black Manor Hotel-"

"We've got it.We'll be there shortly please remain calm,"the line went dead and I sighed.Lilly sat with her head down and I walked over to her.

"I'm really sorry,honey,"I whispered as I knelt down infront of her.She threw her hands around my shoulders and continued sobbing.I rubbed her back and whispered what I hope was soothing words to her.

I could hear Harres yelling at Willow to lay still and cooperate.I made a mental note to pay him double his salary.

"It's going to be okay.Please don't keep quiet about something like this ever again,"I stroked his hair and I felt her nod into my shoulder.Everything happened so fast that I didn't have time to comprehend the seriousness of the situation.My daughter was nearly killed right now but I had to remain calm.Both for her and myself.

To think that a psychopath was right among us the entire time and to think that she was related to Lilly.Makes you wonder how despicable this wretched world really is.

In a matter of time the police arrived and the elevator opened and a number of police officers filed in with guns drawn.I put up my hands in case they thought I was the perpetrator.

"Officers.I was the one to make the call.Javier Black.This is my daughter.The person you are looking for is in a room detained by my friend,"I pointed to the room and half of them dispersed and some stayed behind with their guns still drawn.

"ID and registration please,"I took out my wallet and handed it to a nearby officer.They opened it and nodded before taking out an evidence bag.

"We'll need this to scan for fingerprints for evidence but take out whatever you need,"I took the wallet and pulled out my credit cards and the small photo of Lilly when she was a baby and...her mother.I put it delicately in my trousers and handed it back to them.

"We will need you to come in for questioning.We will accompany you and your daughter to the station where we will take your statements,"I nodded and picked up Lilly.

"It'll all be over soon and we'll be able to go back to normal,okay?"she stayed still and I sighed.I would have to get her the necessary therapy for her to heal mentally.

The other half of police officers that disappeared into the room came waltzing out with Willow in handcuffs.She was screaming bloody murder and thrashing around.I looked on with disgust.Someone I entrusted my daughter with.I felt disgusted with myself that I was fooled by such a woman.Guilt ate at me every second for not noticing.Not taking the time to talk to Lilly.

All of this could have been prevented if I wasn't...me.

"Any other witnesses?"an officer asked me and I thought about Georgia befre shaking my head.I couldn't get her involved with this mess.She has already done enough.It would be selfish of me to ask more out of her.
