“Do you want me to leave?” Akira asked in a quiet sounding voice as he took a small step back. “I know I shouldn’t have entered without permission but I thought it would be okay because-” He couldn’t even explain himself before the woman cut him off.
“Why are you here in the first place? You still with my son?” Christy spoke with a less than pleasant sounding voice while looking at the man with a pair of fear striking eyes.
“I am…” Akira decided not to pay attention to the woman’s obviously dissatisfied tone of voice. He wasn’t there to argue with her but to help her in any way he could. “Do you need anything?” He asked meekly as if he wasn’t certain what else he could do in this situation.
“If I needed anything I would have called the nurse instead.” C
