The car was eerily silent except for the low hum of the engine. My arms were folded, my mind spinning with wondering where Giovianni was taking me to.
I shifted uncomfortably.
The air between us had changed since he carried me out of that damn house. There was something in his gaze—something dark and unreadable.
I frowned as I glanced out the window, realizing we were pulling into a hospital parking lot.
My heart slammed against my ribs.
Why here?
I turned to him sharply. "What are we doing here?"
Giovianni didn’t look at me immediately. Instead, he parked smoothly, took his time turning off the ignition, and then finally turned those intense eyes on me. His expression was unreadable, his jaw ticking like he was debating whether or not to answer.
