Chapter31

2057 Words

~Tiara The silence in Giovanni’s car was heavy, the kind of silence that wasn’t peaceful but filled with unspoken words and lingering tension. I stared out the window, watching the city rush by, wishing I could melt into the scenery and disappear. Giovanni sat next to me, brooding, his fingers drumming against the console—his sharp exhales and restless fidgeting said it all. But I wasn’t in the mood to care. The faint sound of a lighter clicking broke the silence. I turned slightly to see him lighting a cigarette. He took a long drag, holding it between his fingers as he cast a sideways glance at me. “Are you gonna be like this forever, huh?” he asked, his voice low but tinged with irritation. I didn’t respond, my eyes fixed on the blur of storefronts and pedestrians outside.
