were the lines I just read in the newspaper which made me overjoyed. I genuinely needed this opportunity. It was something I had been waiting for days. I finally got my way. Wasting no time, I immediately made a call in the given contact number.
After few seconds, a sharp voice of a man replied my call, "Hello, who's speaking?"
I said,"Hello sir, I just found a advertisement for vacancy of head helper in Parker's villa in the newspaper where i found this number. I am interested for this job."
After a few minutes of question and answer, I was called for an interview tomorrow at 10:30 AM. This job was going to help me a lot.
By the way my name is Mary Eliot. I am 23 years old and 5’4 feet tall. I have fair round complexion with curly blonde hair and medium sized blue eyes. I live alone in one bedroom and a kitchen rented apartment in London. By the time you may have guessed what I do so rather not say about it.
After some hours of the call, I went out for some fresh air. I had some grocery shopping done during that time. Giving my rest of the day to explore the nature I returned my home in the evening leading myself straight to the bed.
It was next morning and the sun had already rose. The whole night I was thinking about my interview and now finally the day was here. I grabbed my dress from the wardrobe and quickly putting it on, went for preparing my breakfast. I fed myself with some scrambled eggs, bread and bacon along with a glass full of pomegranate juice.
The London had started to become cold these days, so i took my trench coat out from the closet. After some final makeup touches, taking my files and locking the doors, I left for my interview.
Outside the scene was fairly chilly. People were milling about rushing here and there. It was nearly office hours which explained the crowd. The day was cold today. I could feel the cool breeze breaking into my cheeks. For some time, I enjoyed the weather and the crowd of people rushing to reach their destination. But I could not be late for my interview, so hurriedly calling a cab I left the scene.
After 30 minutes of driving in the west London I finally arrived to my journey's end, but i should say the beginning. Paying to the cab, I went near the entrance of the Parker's villa. In front of me I could see Parker's villa written in bold black, on a golden name plate. There was a big black metal gate surrounded with jasmine vines all around. The sweetly scented white flowers on top of the dark green leaves made my day.
Walking ahead, I said “Excuse me!” giving a light knock to the door.
A man popped out his head from a hole in the gate and shouted, “Yes, what do you want?” He seemed to be the security guard, but I guess being a little sweeter wouldn't take his job away.
Anyways ignoring his negativity, I said “I have been called for an interview of the head helper.” Listening to me, he led me in opening the giant black door.
I don't know why but the air coming from inside splashed my mood. Though it didn’t give me a good feeling, I stepped in the courtyard of the Parker's villa. It was absolutely enormous. Gardens, swimming pool, car parking, a big castle, I could see everything inside but what pleased me the most were the colorful flowers all around which added beauty to the territory. The scents of the flower changed the vibes of the surrounding. It was already 10:20 AM so not wanting to be late; I quickly hold my file tight and entered through the entrance of the villa.
I saw a maid standing as soon as I entered. She showed me the way to the waiting room. The waiting room was large and seemed to be painted in the dark wooden color. I made myself comfortable on a black chair kept on the corner of the room.
Crossing my legs and clutching my file with my hands, I waited for my interview. But as I looked around me, I realized nearly 20 women waiting for their turns. I knew it was going to be a long wait, so taking a deep breath I began glancing at the big antic clock that was hanged in the wall against me.
One by one the women were leaving after being called for the interview. Waiting for my turn, I started noticing the interior of the room. The interior of the room reminded me the rooms of castles in fantasy movies. There were antic paintings hanging in the walls of the room. I could even see lot of indoor plants in the room. I love plants, so I was pretty much enjoying to stare at it.
About 20 minutes passed in the waiting room. There were 10 women left in the room, including me. I was confident that I would be selected but I just wished they would not select anyone before my interview. It was then when an old lady with a uniform and heels on, who was on her 60's, entered the room and called my name, “Mary Eliot”. I quickly stood up and said, “Yes it’s me”. It was finally the time I was waiting for.
The lady took me out of the waiting room. I followed the old lady through a long hallway until we reached to the door of a room. The door was dark brown in color with some beautiful carvings. There was a beautiful blue colored rug and two indoor plants placed in the entrance of the room and the door closed.
She stopped before entering the room and said, “You seem to be kind so why I am saying you this, the lady inside is Ella Parker, the wife of the owner of the house who is extremely harsh and unpleasant. So, make sure you are polite and respectful to her if you truly need this job.”
I wondered if she only said it to me or whether it was the line for every applicant. But, I was not in a temperament to argue so I just nodded and she left. I was left all alone when I started guessing why she said so. But whatever was the reason, I was not going to do it. Definitely, I needed the job but I was not going to do anything that I don’t like to. I will do what i feel is good for me. Stopping my thoughts, I lightly knocked the door and someone opened it.
