"Hey babes. Are you almost here?" Kate asked

"Yeah, five minutes out" I replied

"Okay. You can tell me about your night then" She said

"Oh man. It was a long one. And not in the good way" I said

We both hung up and we pulled up to the rodeo. Colin was behind me so he parked next to me. I was next to Kate who got here way before us. We decided, since there's three of us, to huddle in front of my truck. I have a big chair and I brought a blanket. It's gonna get cold tonight.

"Well. I'm hungry" Kate said

"Shocker" I laughed

"I mean. I ate before leaving" Colin said

"So did I" Kate laughed

I shook my head and sat in my big chair with the blanket over me.

"Alright missy. What happened last night. You haven't told me" Kate said

"You didn't really tell us either" Colin said

"Yeah. It wasn't really the best night. And tonight's gonna be interesting" I said

"Why?" Kate asked

I told them about Gavin, then what happened at the barn with John. And now they are both pissed off. Colin rides with Gavin too so that's going to be fun. John, Ryan, Bobby and one other guy are set up directly across from us. Kate is shooting them daggers. I mean, John was a d**k but he was being kinda nice. I don't know. My head was clouded with emotions.

"So. Can I go over and kick his ass" Kate said

"No, I just started riding with you idiots. I don't want to get kicked out" Colin said

"Be nice Kate. We board at the same place. I can kick his ass whenever" I said

"No no Ella. You'll lose your job" Colin said "Jeez, is this how your boyfriend feels when he's here"

"Yes"

We all jumped and Tommy was standing behind us. So then he got caught up on the story.

"I have a question. Do they all know we are related?" Colin asked

"I don't know why" I said

"I'll go over and ask about you." Colin said

I just shrugged and cuddled up in my blanket in my big chair. Then John and Ryan walked over. Lovely.

"Hey. You ready to ride with our bulls again" Ryan laughed

"Eh, they aren't that bad" Colin replied

Ryan and Colin started talking and Tommy went to help Kate grab stuff out of her trailer cause she hit a bump and stuff fell. So John came and sat next to me.

"Hey" He said

"Hey" I replied

"So, uhm. How are you feeling?" He asked

"Like a person" I said back

"C'mon Ella. You know what I mean." John groaned

"Still pissed off and ready to fight someone" I replied glaring at him

"Oh.. okay" He said. I just looked at him then he got up and looked back at me. "Still dumb to go riding at night"

I took a deep breath and shook my head so I don't get up and deck this kid. I'm really not a violent person. Actually, I am, but I can keep it under wraps. I'm also emotional as hell but not in front of people. Kate knows, I get really mad when I get upset.

"I guess we should start getting ready" Kate said

"Yeah. I guess we should." I said

Getting up, I put my blanket on my chairs and started to tack up Gypsy. Stretching out his legs, I put his bridle on and hopped up.

"You are fast. Jeez" Kate said

"You have help too" I laughed

She shook her head and I started down the road and trotted around an open area. Then John came riding over.

"Oh look. You're riding while it's dark again" John said

"So are you dumbass" I replied

"Well at least when I do, I have a saddle and bridle" He replied

"I guess you don't trust your horse as much as I trust mine" I said

"At least i'm not stupid" He said

"Why! Do you keep calling me stupid. And dumb. Like what the f**k John" I said

"Cause you do stupid things" He said

"Like what" I asked

"Riding at night with nothing. Going out with Gavin of all people" He said

"Why would going out with him be so bad. Well it was. But why do you care" I asked

"I don't" He said

"Well, then don't tell me it was dumb of me to go out with him. I can go out with who ever, whenever" I said

"And give them a reason to call you a w***e. Do you actually want that title" John said

"Well, I have it. Mine as well give them a reason" I said looking at him

"Are you serious? You're going to go sleep around with everyone" John said

"... No." I said

"Don't be stupid" John said

"Well you already say I am" I replied "I'm just a f*****g i***t to you"

Kicking, Gyps sides, I rode back over to the trailer and tied him back up. Then I sat back in my chair and cuddled up with my blanket.

"John, is getting on my last nerve" I said

" Why" Colin asked

"He's just.. Ugh" I said

"Hey Colin, you wanna come with Bobby and I down to the arena. There's a new bull" Ryan said walking over towards us.

"Yeah. I'll be back Ella, don't murder anyone" He smiled

I shook my head and Kate took her horse out to warm up. Tommy walked down with her. He is the reason she gets so many good photos. He also takes some of me so I have some to share. I smiled to myself and looked around before feeling my phone buzz.

John: Hey, come over here real fast

Me: Why?

I'm gonna kill this kid. I swear.

John: I want to show you something

Me: Oh really now. What could you possibly have

John: Please

Me: No

Putting my phone down guess who decided to come waltzing by

"Oh look who's all by themselves" Gavin laughed

"Am I not allowed to want to be by myself" I said

"No one wants to be around a w***e" He said

"I'm not a w***e. I don't go into dates expecting to get something out of it like you" I said

"You two went on a date" Harry said

"Yup. He asked me out. And when I showed up dressing how I dress he thought I was going to be be all fancy and look at cute so he could get some afterward. Never talked to this kid a day in my life and he's trying to f**k the first date" I said

"No I didn't" Gavin said

"Wait what did you two do?" Harry asked

"I left. We didn't even make it inside. Cause Gavin here only gets with hoes I guess. He thought I was one and I wasn't. So big f**k you to Gavin here. He even followed me to my truck. What a creep" I said

"What the hell Gavin" Harry said

"She sleeps around. I wanted to get lucky" Gavin said laughing

"Who said she sleeps around. We have never talked about her. Except her riding cause she wins a lot. You're good Ella" Harry said

"Thanks Harry" I said

"Well you know what you little w***e. The way you back out from people. You're never going to get a man. No one wants a pansy" Gavin said

"What the f**k is wrong with you man" Harry said

He walked away and Gavin just looked at me. Then he smirked and walked over to me.

"You want me make me look like a fool? I'll make you look like a lying w***e" He said

He grabbed both my arms and yanked me out of the chair I was in.

"Hey" I said

"C'mon. Lets go in your trailer" He smirked

"No. Gavin what the f**k" I said

He started to pull me past the trucks and Gypsy started to freak out. He kicked Gavin and I felt someone grab me.

"Let me go" I yelled

I started kicking and Gavin stood up and looked pissed.

"Stop kicking Ella" I heard

"Let me go" I repeated

He did and I calmed Gypsy down.

"Your f*****g horse kicked me" Gavin said

"You were dragging her" John said

"Stay out of this bozo." Gavin said

"Who the f**k do you think you are" I said

"I think your horse broke my leg" Gavin said

"Good. Now get the f**k out of here" I said

He walked by and limped past the trucks. Then he looked back and swung at John. And here comes Kate. She rode past and Tommy tried pulling them apart.

"Stop" I yelled

I kicked Gavin in the leg where he got kicked and he fell on the ground. So Tommy grabbed him and dragged him back. John tried to follow him but I stood in front of him.

"John stop" I said pushing him back

He pushed me and I tripped and fell.

"What the hell John" Kate said running over

He looked at both of us and jogged back to his trailer. His face is bleeding. Tommy came over to us and Colin came walking over. Gavin limped away. No one helped him. It's fine.

"What happened" Colin said

So I explained. And Colin and Tommy went to go after Gavin, but Colin can't be involved so Tommy is going to find him.

"I'm so sorry girl." Kate said

"I'm fine. Gyp kicked him and John... I don't know what John was doing but he grabbed me and got me away from Gavin... I should go see if he's okay he was bleeding pretty bad" I said

"No I'll go you sit down" Colin said

"No it's fine. I have to talk to him anyway" I said

Going into my truck, I grabbed some alcohol wipes and band aids. Looking at my cousin and friend, I gave them a small nod and walked over to Johns trailer. Peeking my head in, I saw him sitting on the floor of his trailer with a rag on his head.

"Hey" I said

"What" John sighed

"Do you want some stuff to clean up your face" I asked

"Huh?" He said confused

"I have s**t to clean up your face. Now do you want help. Or do you want to bleed" I said

"Oh. I can do it" He said

"Yeah no" I replied

He looked at me and sighed before nodding. Walking over to the boy I squatted down and he handed me his bloody rag. Yikes. He got clipped right on his eye brow. You know. I'm pissed at this kid, but I guess he tried to help me? I don't know.

"Okay. This is going to sting. Don't punch me okay" I smiled

He chuckled and then jumped when I used the alcohol wipes. I said sorry over and over and got some butterfly stitches on there. Wiping away the blood, I smiled at the kid.

"Okay, that should help" I said

"Thanks Ella" He said

"Yeah." I nodded

Standing up, he did the same and I started to walk out of the trailer, then I turned around and hugged the kid.

"Thanks" I said

"For what? You're the one who just helped me" He said chuckling at the end

"I guess coming over. And pulling me away from Gavin. He may have gotten kicked but he still had a tight grip on my wrists" I said

"Oh. I was coming to get you cause I wanted to show you something. Then I saw him grab you and I ran over" He said

I stepped back from hugging him and gave him a small smile.

"I'm sorry for pushing you also. I just wanted to beat his ass" He laughed

"I think Tommy went and did that" I said "What did you want to show me?"

"Uhm. I don't remember honestly. So much just happened" He said

"Oh. Okay. Well i'm going to go finish getting ready. We have to ride out." I said

"Good luck" John said

"Same to you" I replied

I quickly kissed his non bloody cheek and walked back to my trailer.

"What took you so long" Kate asked

"His face was bleeding" I laughed

"You ready to ride out?" She said

"Yeah" I replied "What about you Colin are you ready?"

"Yup" He laughed

"Hey Ella. What were you doing in John's trailer?" Ryan said walking over with Bobby

"He dropped something and cut his face. So I gave him stuff to clean it up." I replied

"Oh okay" Ryan said

They looked at each other then walked back over to their trailers. Okay then? I made sure Gypsy was fine then took off my hoodie. I may be wearing long sleeves but it's cold out side. We all hopped up on our horses and went down to the waiting area. They grouped everyone together and had us line up the way we'll be called. This is always fun, I enjoy riding out and being out there. They started their shpeal and soon they started to call everyone. Once we all somehow fit out there together, they finished up their beggining routine and we all went back to our trailers. They split the bull riding. So I took Colin's horse back while he went up with the other bull riders. I hope he doesn't seen Gavin. Well he thinks Gyp broke his leg so he probably can't ride.

"So, you think Gavin is still riding?" Kate asked

"Oh no. I made sure of that" Tommy said

"Thanks Tommy" I laughed

He hugged me and I sat back in my comfy chair with my blanket. I decided to just play around on my phone and posted a picture on i********:. Then I got a text from John.

John: Hey, do you care if my friends know I have your number?

Me: Did they not know?

John: Nope.

Me: Oh... I guess, I don't care.. I thought they knew. Idk why you'd keep that a secret

Why wouldn't he tell his friends we have each other's number. I mean Bobby is probably going to lose his s**t, but Ryan is his best friend. At least that's what it seems like. I don't know. Guys are dumb. And here's another message.

John: Ryan wanted your number.. So I never told him I had it

Me: Oh? Why doesn't he just ask

John: I don't know..

I looked up and they were no where to be seen. This kid is dumb.

Me: Well if he doesn't ask I guess he doesn't care that much

"Guys are dumb" I said

"Thanks" Tommy laughed

"Not you. I have John's number.. right" I said

"You do?" Kate asked

"We went over this before." I laughed

"Okay continue" She said

"And you know, we talk every now and then, but not a lot. Anyway. He just texted me and asked if he could tell his friends he has my number. Then said he doesn't know why he never told them. Then he said it's cause Ryan said he wanted my number. I don't know." I said shaking my head.

"Ryan wants your number so John didn't say that he has it? Oh maybe Ryan would be jealous" Kate laughed

"Now why would Ryan be jealous?" I laughed back

"Maybe he likes you. You two seemed to get along at the joint show" Tommy smirked

"I was just trying to be a nice person. It's not always a thing" I pouted

"We know" Kate and Tommy said

"So, if I was coming off as flirty... whoops. I was just trying to make my little boyfriend happy" I said

They both laughed and we chatted for a little bit. Colin came back over and said that Gavin was out. He also did pretty good. Now they just called up Barrel racers. We go then there's an intermission. Hopping up on Gypsy, Kate and I rode down and we all got lined up. I was first. Once they finished the steer wrestling it was our turn. John came out of the gate and fist bumped me as he rode by. Okay then.

"Alright, first up on her crazy fast horse Gypsy. We have Ella Davis!" The announcer said

I went out into the arena, and turned him in a circle before going. Starting at the left, I went around all three barrels and raced out of the gate. Slowing my boy down, I trotted up to the trailer and hopped off. Well, now that's over I can un tack. Getting everything off and out away, I quickly brushed Gypsy out and let him graze a bit. He's still tied to the trailer, just loose enough for him to reach the grass.

"Hey Ella!" I heard

Looking over I saw Ryan walking towards me. So I met him at our chairs.

"Hey" I said

"What are you doing tomorrow night?" He asked

"Uhm.. Probably nothing why?" I replied

"Did you want to go out for dinner with me?" Ryan asked

"Really?" I asked

"Yeah" He replied

"Sure" I said shrugging

"Great" Ryan smiled, then he turned around and walked away

You know. That kid doesn't have my number. Unless John gave it to him. Eh. Kate eventually made her way back with her husband and they untacked her horse Romeo then did what I did. Brush him out and let him graze.

"So, how'd it go" I asked

"Pretty good as always" Kate smiled

"I'm very thankful for this chair and blanket right now" I said

"It is cold." Tommy said

"So, you guys want to hear another funny story from tonight?" I laughed

"Oh god what happened now" Kate replied

"Ryan asked me to dinner tomorrow" I said

"Aww" Kate smiled

"He doesn't have my number though. So I don't know how he's got this planned" I laughed

"Well go give it to him" Tommy laughed

"He didn't ask. I want to see him figure it out" I laughed

"You're ruthless" Kate said

"I'm just heartless. But Janis and her kids taught me that. Mostly because I didn't give a damn about them" I said

"I know. You went from getting upset to being a bad ass b***h. Not that getting upset was bad. But a lot of things got to you. And yeah you didn't express that out in public but I knew you then like I know you now and you hide it so well and tell people off. Badass" Kate said

"I did cry in front of John last night" I pouted

"When?" Tommy asked

"Well I went to the barn after that... terrible time with Gavin. And I took Gypsy out. John got there as I was riding out and I broke down with my horse like usual. Then when I came back he was getting on my nerves and I yelled at him and I was still up set. I didn't cry, cry. But there were some tears. And he knew what happened with Gavin. " I said

"Ohh. Well that's not bad" Tommy said

"Yeah but still" I replied

"It's fine. What did he say though" Kate asked

"I honestly don't remember" I laughed

She shook her head and we decided to go watch roping when it came up. So once the boys across from us head down we were going to as well. Since they don't announce the winners until tomorrow morning, a lot of people like to leave when they get done. So some trailers are pulling out now.

"I like watching too much to leave as soon as we're done" Kate said

"Me too" I replied

After they cleared out, the boys headed up for roping. Which Colin does as well. He trotted up and I decided to leave my blanket with my chair. I could go up with it, I do when it's really cold. But right now it's tolerable. Sitting in the little VIP section, I waved to my cousin and they headed out to the other side of the arena. Since that's where they keep the steer until they go back with all the others. It's always fun watching them rope. I honestly enjoy going down to the arena and roping with them, it's a lot of fun to do. I think Gypsy enjoys the change sometimes. I also enjoy showing them up in their section. John gets mad sometimes, Ryan seems to get jealous and Colin just laughs at them. Ryan and John are a weird pair. I don't know what it is but there's something.

"I think i'd make a good roper" Tommy said

"Uh huh sure" Kate laughed

"I'm pretty good" I smiled

"See, now that's something I can believe" Kate replied

Tommy just shook his head and rolled his eyes at us. We watched them all do their thing then they came back out. And here goes the bare back bronc riders. Then it's the second half of the bull riders and boom. Rodeo is over for the night. So I headed back to my trailer to start cleaning up. And I got a text message from John.

John: You're going out with Ryan tomorrow?

Me: Apparently

John: What do you mean apparently

John: Wait... he just said he doesn't have your number

Me: Yup. He never asked for it. So I don't know how he was planning on setting something up. Unless he lied

I just shrugged and closed up my trailer. Kate and I decided to head out a little early since one, it gets to be a s**t show when trying to leave. And two, we have to wait for all the people just coming to watch to leave and I'm exhausted.

"Are you two leaving?" Colin asked

"Yeah. Are you waiting?" I asked

"Nah. I'm tired. I just have to load up Ranger then i'll head out with you"He replied

We nodded and I loaded up Gypsy. Kate put her horses away and we hugged. Now that we live closer to each other I see her more then just rodeos. Saying Bye to Tommy we all got in our trucks and pulled out. Driving through the lot, and not hitting anyone, I went down the entrance road and turned onto the main. Now to make the half an hour drive to the barn. Colin is also up my ass. I would break check him, but then he'd hit my horse. I can't have that.

"Colin, i'm gonna beat your ass" I said to myself

Shaking my head, I got to the barn and we put our horses in their stalls. I also punched his shoulder and he laughed. So, I made him park my trailer. Pulling out my phone I answered a few messages and shook my head at John.

John: He didn't lie. He's coming to ask for your number

John: Oh you guys left. Why did you leave early?

John: Do you care if I give him your number?

Me: I don't care

Putting my phone back in my pocket, Colin brought my truck back up and we headed home. I won, my old beater is the best. I'm so tired. And I think that's Ryan messaging me.

Unknown: Hey It's Ryan, John gave me your number... cause he had it

Me: Hi

I put Ryan in my phone and found a snack. I'm really tired but I guess I should see if Ryan tries and makes a plan. So I got a shower and came back out to a new message. And Colin telling me I take forever.

Ryan: Did you still want to go out for dinner tomorrow?

Me: Sure

Ryan: Great! Uhm. Does 7 sound good?

Me: Yeah that's fine

I was just going to say 'Yeah' But so far it's only been one word answers. Whoops. Talking with guys just doesn't go well for me most of the time. So I'm cold hearted until proven wrong. Or I enjoy talking to you. I don't know. Some guys f****d up how I talk to guys and Janis and her kids just made me hate people. I try, I really do, but you see how far that went with Gavin. Putting my phone facedown on my nightstand, I passed out.
