Selena POV
My father helped me with packing of my luggage as he kept mumbling. "You'll do fine. Just do exactly as you're been told. Make no enemies between such people. Be very respectful. Whatever it is, obey and never disobey." He mumbled now staring at me.
"Did you hear what I just said?" He asked placing his both hands on either side of the my shoulder as I nodded my head and he left my room with a forced smile.
My father wasn't someone who talks much but he feels things deeply more than a woman.
I just kept spacing back and forth, for it's almost noon. I couldn't eat anything since In morning and I'm very hungry but I don't have the appitite to eat.
And then came a knock on my room door. "Come in." I replied and my elder brother James stepped in with a disappointed look but smiled to lighten up the atmosphere.
"Let's look at the bright side. If you do well it will be very beneficial to our family. I guess that's what grandpa thought damning other circumstances that may arise in the feature," he said and hugged me.
I also hugged him holding my tears cry not to ruin the little makeup my grandmother tried putting on my face.
" Where's the faith that I'll survive this terror?" I questioned hopelessly as he hugged me tightly also shivering at the thought of my uncertain death.
"No idea Selena. The advice I could give you right now is to stay out of any conflict possible and if you could find a safer means to escape do it. I personally will risk it for you to be safe." James told me with a determined tone as I exhaled trying to calm my nerves down.
Escaping those corrupt Royal ethnics is it possible? I wondered.
And then came another knock that disturbed the silent in my room between my brother and I.
"Selena the guards are here," my mother said while opening the door to see me in my brother arms and she quickly joined to hug me.
"My sweet handworking girl. We'll device a means to save you. There has to be a safer means of escape." She uttered pecking the side of my head.
I felt bitterness within because I'll leave my peaceful home to another troubling home.
"Selena Edwin, we are here to escort you to the castle far in the east and we are running out of time. Kindly step out so that we could begin such long journey." Yelled the Royal guards at the entrance of our compound.
"Mother, James, it's time for me to leave." I told them as my grandmother and Father came into my room and joined the hug. It was a big family hug, a farewell at that.
We all broke the hug as my family accompany me to the front side of our small gate and there I saw 3 Royal guards on their well fitted uniform.
One was sited at the front of the carriage, he's the one who controls the horses and rides the carriage. He didn't even spare me a glance
The 2 other guards hand a scrowl on their faces while collecting my luggage from my brother and my father placing it at the back of the carriage. There was no denial the carriage was made from the finest wood shop and painted with the most expensive oil paint it was definitely eye catching.
I climbed into the carriage and was about to wave my family a last goodbye but one of the guards shut the carriage door closed on my face and I had to shift the curtain with the carriage and wave a goodbye at them. In seconds the carriage took off immediately and my family disappeared out of my sight.
I was the only one sited within the carriage as there were 2 guards in front of the carriage and one behind it.
And so it was that the journey to the castle at the east side region of Florida Kingdom was very far. And we arrived there almost at mid night. It took longer due to some conflicted reasons I knew nothing about and the guards had to take a longer trail.
I watched through the window of the carriage how we got into the castle as the big large gate was opened by 2 guards with the castle gate post.
There were standing road light with the castle compound as it took us 10 minutes before we got to the front of the castle door.
I tried opening the carriage door since none of the guard attempted to open it for me but it was locked, after few pushes on struggling to open the door one of them flugged the door opened as I fell out the carriage hitting the coated floor and scratched my elbow on the hard floor.
I whimped in pain now holding my bleeding elbow as the 3 guards scoffed in ignorance of the pain they caused.
"You aren't welcomed here," one of them said.
"You aren't meant to be here so take precautions before doing any shit." Another replied as the 2 guards chuckled walking off.
The 3rd guard just kept staring at me with a blank expression, I couldn't identify his facial looks quite well because it was dark as I also stared at him.
"Get up and go inside." He told me and left.
I got up and dusted myself to see that my favourite gown in which my mother sew for me got torn off from behind.
It's ruined. I cried within.
I walked up to the back of the carriage and took out my luggage as I walked up to the front of castle door.
I stared at the door contemplating if I should just knock or open it. I took a step to knock on the door but one side of the door was gradually opened.
And a maiden in her uniform just stared at me with full irritation. She stepped to the side and I got into the castle and I was faced with a large hall and 3 long stairway leading to exactly where I don't know.
"The 3rd stairway climb it all the way up you belong to the east wing of this castle outcasted and alone." She told me closing the front door and left climbing the 1st stairway.
I sighed, I guess I was welcomed by none. Who would want to welcome an outcast like me. I climbed the 3rd stairway up to a long hallway room doors by either side of the walls. As a maiden approached me handing me a key which read room 123 and left without saying a single word to me.
I walked down the hallway looking for the identified room and when I saw it I smiled, opening the door with the key and dragged my luggage into the room.
Yes I did carry my 3 luggage all the way to this room.
Once I was in, I closed the door and lighten a candle by the right up side shelf of the room which then brighten the room to my sight.
The bedroom was spacious with a big bed but it was that really big. Oh I see. This is one of the guest room of this castle and I chuckled.
Oh silly Selena what were you thinking before, that yuh their long lost princess? That they'll welcome you with open hands? I should actually stop reading those fictional stories I buy from the village library. I chuckled menacingly.
I just sat down on the bed and laid down staring at a very small chandelier that had candles in it.
What will happen to me by tomorrow? I was welcomed by none, then hated and disliked by them all for an undefined reason.
What a pity? And I went to dream land.
