The convincing process of Sirius and the knights, a group of men wearing an unusual uniform approached him again.
“Sir how long will it take?” Ivan asked.
“It will take time sir as they are scared and frightened from your metal beast and metal box flying in the sky.”
Ivan felt the urge to laugh at his ignorance but fortunately, he was able to contain it since he shouldn’t look down on these people who are still improving and progressing.
“Okay, but you are the mayor right? Can you confirm?”
Thanks to their education on the new language, even though they manage to learn it for days due to Michael manipulating their characteristics and traits for the purpose of learning the new language, he was able to converse with the mayor.
“Yes sir,” Sirius confirmed in a muzzled tone, frightened as something might happen if he were to reveal his identity.
“Okay…” Ivan beckoned his boys with his hand to get Sirius, in which Sirius got shocked for a moment and began pleading.
“Sir what are you doing to me? I didn’t do anything bad sir please spare my life.”
“You misunderstand it, sir. Our supreme excellency wants to have an audience with you. You are free to tag someone along with you.” Ivan said.
“Then…” Sirius looked behind and grabbed the shoulder of the young knight and leaned closer to his ears.
“Mayor?”
“Lannis, please come with me, I’ll meet their superiors and I want you by my side if something goes south,” Sirius whispered.
“But...sir?”
“Just come with me.”
Ignoring the kid’s trouble, Sirius insisted he go along with him. He has no choice but to accept it since he is his superior after all.
As the soldiers of another country were about to escort them, Sirius remained in his place.
“Sir, you need to go with us so our supreme excellency can talk to you.”
Sirius glanced over his shoulder, looking at his constituents. Ivan noticed it and figured out that he is worried about them.
Ivan smiled as he gently placed his hand onto Sirius’s shoulder.
“Don’t worry, as we’ve promised before, we won’t harm you as that was a direct order from our supreme excellency. His words are absolute and us, his subordinates are deemed to follow it, no question asked.” He assured Sirius.
His words worked as he saw Sirius start walking along with them. A moment later, a flying metal box was hovering in the sky and slowly descending.
Sirius and Lannis were dumbfounded at the sight of the metal creature descending from the sky. It was roaring louder and louder as it got close to the ground. They could feel the wind pressure hitting them as their clothes flapping violently.
Touchdown, the Mil Mi-17 Russian helicopter landed. Ivan and his squad escorted them inside the helicopter. However, as they reached the door of the aircraft, Sirius felt a sudden apprehension.
“Sir, what is that?” Sirius asked with a hint of apprehensive tone.
Ivan sighed as he had to explain the mechanism of the helicopter.
“The metal box you’re talking about is called a helicopter, it can fly and can get us to reach a far distance in a short amount of time,” Ivan explained as simply as he could.
“A metal box...that can fly? How...isn’t it—”
“Sir, I don’t have the luxury to explain but I assure you that there is a book specialized for this that we can give you. So for now, you enter.”
Ivan was getting impatient at Sirius now as his questions were getting on his nerves.
Sirius noticed that and decided to enter the helicopter not wanting to burst him into anger.
Boarding the Mil Mi-17 helicopter, the two Klimov TV3-117VM turboshaft engines roared again as it started generating lift. It was loud outside but from the inside, Sirius and Ivan can only hear a muffled sound as Ivan gives them a headpiece that covers their ears.
Then Sirius looked out the oval window of the helicopter and saw that they are definitely flying. A sense of thrilling joy swept throughout his body as he can’t describe this feeling of a human flying.
…
Ten minutes later, Sirius peered down the window and saw an orange bright light below. Scanning it, he figured out that it was some sort of town. It was so dazzlingly brighter than the royal capital. In this world, there are no street lamps and electricity so people here in this world rely only on the fireplaces but only nobles can afford it. The commoners only rely on torchlight and candles as the source of light.
That’s right, Sirius noticed the lights first and second, while peering down, he saw buildings that stood five stories tall. Inside of them was a bright light again and from what seems to be a road there was a moving iron in it but it was completely different from the ones before.
It was overwhelming and exaggerating, it was his first time seeing a town like this, especially when he’s in the sky peering down as if he is a bird looking down at the spectacular sight.
He couldn’t hide his excitement and amazement, he looked at Lannis and he was in the same state as him.
Five minutes later, the helicopter landed at the south portico of the White House, and men in black started approaching them.
“Thank you, we will take care of them from here.”
Ivan nodded and returned to the helicopter where they will go back to the place where he intercepted the locals.
Entering a white building, dazzling and extravagant lights lighting the place. There was a painting and intricately designed lamps mounted in the wall. The smell of the building is nice too and couldn’t be compared to the Royal Palace.
Walking for about five minutes inside the White House, they finally arrived at the door where beyond it was the superior of the grand army and a beautiful town.
Nervousness tickled them as they were about to enter the office of the supreme excellency.
The two mustered up courage as the men in black reached for the doorknob.
“Be calm, be calm, be calm, be calm.” Trying to calm himself, the door was opened.
Sirius and Lannis entered the room and saw two young figures there. But the moment he swept around his gaze onto the office. He saw something familiar, he rubbed his eyes to confirm but it was really there.
A woman wearing a bizarre dress shocked him.
“...Anna!”
Anna was startled as she reactively rose to her seat and bowed.
“...Mayor!”
Michael observed their reactions and judging from it, they seemed to know each other. Though it felt awkward, Michael decided to interrupt their trivial reunion.
“Are you the Mayor?” Ernest asked simply, unlike his soldiers, he wasn’t that proficient in speaking their language.
Raphael, who was on his side, repeatedly translated his words.
“Uhm...yes, I’m the Mayor of the Willow Town, Sirius Mons.” Sirius was shocked at the moment, is the young handsome guy sitting behind the desk could be their superior?
Michael smiled and walked forward and extended his hand, offering a handshake.
“I’m Michael Stevens, the supreme excellency of the Empire of Liberty. The name of our country is rather simple but don’t worry, I’ll come up with a better name in the future hehe.” Michael introduced himself as he exclaimed, waving his hand to ease their minds.
Michael continued, “The woman behind me is the vice-excellency, Raphael Einsberg.”
Raphael bowed her head in affirmation.
“And this half-elf maid there is Anna, well I believe that both of you met.”
Sirius pondered for a moment, this was his first time hearing the name Empire of Liberty. It’s quite mysterious judging from the army that they have, the bright light, and the architecture that they have. How can a country so advanced like this are not known to him?
However, now that he knows the name of the king and queen of this country, he decided to extend his gratitude.
“Likewise, his majesty and her majesty.” He bowed and then he felt the atmosphere around him grew tense.
Raphael's face turned red after hearing that, Anna also. Michael, who is confused by their weird reaction, asked Raphael what he just said.
His vocabulary is limited and was only able to memorize phrases of him introducing himself. However, the moment Sirius talks the two react, making him curious.
Raphael lowered her head, twiddling bashfully. “He-he said...her majesty…”
She said stammering bashfully.
“Ah…” Michael understood it, “Well, clear up the misunderstanding...No, it’s okay. For now, you’ll be my queen.”
“M-M-M-My queen?!” Raphael whose face turned red, turned redder even more, “St-st-stupid...how can you say that?”
“It’s just for formality,” Michael simply said, “Don’t worry it’s just that we pretend that I’m the king and you’re the queen. If you don’t want it then you can then I won’t force you. After all, both of you girls can only clear this misunderstanding.”
“No...no...no sir!, It’s fine. Let’s pretend that way.” Raphael stammered bashfully.
Raphael confirmed that both of them are in that relationship. However both of them knew that it was just for formality, there’s no hidden meaning underneath it. It’s just a job.
“Okay, let’s put that formality down, and let’s get down to business. Sirius, as the supreme excellency of the Empire of Liberty I offer you two things.”
