Arrival at the Seawind Region

1926 Words
“Sir this is the confirmed numbers of vessels we detected via radar heading towards our location.” An officer who watches the radar reported to Captain Ford. Ford heads to the window and picks up his binocular and peers through it, he was three galleon vessels with cannons mounted on the portside and starboard of the ship. “Interesting, they do have cannons in this world huh?” Ford said with a shrug and glanced over to the side and picked his radio. “This is Captain Ford speaking, this is a message to all the ships, do not engage, I repeat do not engage.” … Meanwhile, on the opposite side, three galleon ships are sailing towards the mysterious fleet that appeared on the horizon. Captain of the HMS Seawind, Nelson is looking through with his monocular and spotted the ships. Their sizes grew when the distance between them gradually decreased. He finally has a grasp on what ship they are blocking against. There are ten ships in total, each has odd designs such as no sails and it's made out of steel. This information alone baffled him as to how could a ship sail without a sail or how does a metal ship float? However, if they are a threat to the city, then he has to everything it takes to defend it. “Everyone battle stations!” Nelson shouted to his crew and began to scramble. The HMS Seawind is now changing its course, it was not heading towards but only simply turning to the right for the cannons to fire. Round balls are put inside the cannon and everyone waited for the captain’s order to light up the fuse. Meanwhile, on the opposite side, Captain Ford knows what the other side is planning. They are going to attack them with their salvo. However, Captain Ford didn’t do anything but watch through his binoculars. “Let’s see if they can incur damage to us…Attention all ships, do not engage the enemy, I repeat do not engage the enemy. Maintain current speed and course.” … “Fire!” The three Galleon ships fired their main armaments, each having four of them on their starboard. Twelve round shots were fired and bounced off the moment they hit the armor of the aircraft carrier. “What the?” Captain Nelson was dumbfounded for a moment as he saw the mighty weapons mounted in their ships ineffective. “They are really made out of steel.” “Everyone fire again!” The cannons fired again but the rounds just bounced off, it was useless. Their cannonball will never pierce the armor of the aircraft carrier. Two minutes later, the USS Gerald R. Ford Class Aircraft Carrier is now close to their ships. Nelson was stunned and dazed at the huge infrastructure moving towards them. It was big that made their ships look like fishing boats. He looked again and saw that behind it are the ships made out of steel with different appearances. All of them are majestically designed and straight out of this world. What caught his attention is the two ships that had huge cannons on the bow of the ship. He suddenly lost all the power in his knee and dropped to the ground. It was a really menacing ship that could make someone shiver and terrify if one were to see it. However, something’s wrong. Why are they not attacking even though they attacked? It looked like those big ships were just ignoring them and were heading towards the port of the Seawind Region. Everything confused him until one of the mysterious flying box with a spinning blade on top began to speak. [This is the Empire of Liberty First Carrier Strike Group, we are not here to fight you, I repeat we are not here to fight you. Our country just wanted to have a relationship with your peaceful country, please let us pass.] Everyone looked at the speaking metal box hovering in the air in their dazed state. “Captain, what do we do?” “They are the ones who dropped the leaflets in the city, written there are exactly what that metal box is saying.” “I never heard of such a country who has some fleet like this.” “Captain” The crews of the HMS Seawind are staring at the captain anticipating some answers. Nelson heaved a deep sigh, “Let them pass, we have no way of defeating that fleet. Our weapons are ineffective and letting them pass is the only choice.” Thus, the first carrier strike group continued in their course but there was only one problem, the port was shallow, making it impossible for the aircraft carrier and the rest of the ship to dock. Ford thought of something and came up with an idea, he thought of using a helicopter. It was a simple idea and so he goes with that. … “Ma’am we are already here.” At the flight deck of the aircraft carrier, Anastasia and Sirius were amazed at the expansive space of the flight deck. A helicopter whose rotors are already spinning is waiting for them to board. They boarded the CH-53K King Stallion that would serve as the main transport to the port since it’s impossible for their ship to dock at the Seawind Region port. … At the port, Marquess Karen saw flying steel heading towards the port, she hurriedly headed there to take a clear look. From her perspective, the metal box hovering in the sky has spinning blades on the top and it creates a strong wind that makes her dress and hair flapping violently. All the locals around were staring at the massive ships floating in the sea. It was a frightening sight as they don’t know what’s their real motives for coming here despite the leaflets that assure them that there is nothing to fear. The metal box landed safely and the door was opened. She saw a young woman seemingly in her early twenties, her lustrous white hair fluttered majestically as if it was a shooting star. Beside her was a middle-aged man close to his old age. Both of them are wearing unusual clothing. The guards of the Seawind region scrambled as they fan out and encircle the metal box. On the other hand, Navy Seals that went along with Anastasia and Sirius were in a diamond formation, protecting the VIP as they aimed their FN Scar at the anxious guards. “Oi, calm down, we’re here for a diplomatic mission, don’t show hostility to the locals,” Anastasia said to the soldier. “But...ma’am.” “Don’t worry, they will not attack,” Anastasia assured. The Navy Seal sighs as he orders his men to stand down, lowering their weapons. Anastasia looked in front and saw a hazel-colored woman wearing an elegant dress. “Greetings, I’m Anastasia, the foreign minister of the Empire of Liberty.” She said while placing her hands on her chest and bows slightly. “Lady Karen, you may not know me but I’m Sirius Blake, the lord of the Willow Town but now I’m the chief-of-staff of ma’am Anastasia here.” “Lord of the Willow Town you say?” Karen doesn’t know how to respond, why does one of the lords in the western region work with another country? But there’s no time to think about that as there’s an important matter at hand. “My name is Karen Spear, I’m the lord of the Seawind Region.” She introduced, “It seems like this is not a suitable place to talk.” Karen looked around and saw passers-by staring at them curiously. “I can agree with that,” Anastasia smiled. “Please follow me to my residence.” Arriving at the two-story mansion, Karen escorted them to her office. “Please sit.” Anastasia and Sirius seat and began discussing. “So you’re saying that you’re from an Empire of Liberty right?” Karen inquired, “But I haven’t heard of such a country before…where your country is located.” “That would be located west of your country. It’s an island country rich with minerals and fishes.” She lied, Anastasia doesn’t want to disclose the location of the Empire of Liberty yet so she answered in vague words. “I see, so those ships? Are they not going to attack us?” “I assure you, they will not attack as they are ordered by our revered supreme excellency who sends me here to create diplomatic ties with your country. But it looks like I won’t achieve it by talking to you.” “You’re right, I don’t have any authority of such since I’m the wrong person you’re talking to. The right person is in the royal capital, she’s an ambassador who went to many countries forming ties with the Euphoria Kingdom.” “Hmm, that seems to be the person I’m looking for. However, we can’t get there, we need someone from here to send a message to the royal capital and say our presence.” Anastasia looked at Karen, “That would be you.” “That would not be easy as I have to make sure that you’re not a threat. If you can give me three days I think I can do what you’re asking.” “Thank you very much.” She glanced at Sirius, “Give me that briefcase.” “Here!” Sirius handed her the briefcase and opened it. “If you want to know more about our country please refer to this file,” Anastasia said as she handed a file to Karen. Karen accepted it and put it aside, “Sirius Blake, you’re one of the lords of the western region, care to explain what happened? You know what His Majesty does to those who betrayed him right?” “I didn’t betray our king, we simply defected to the Empire of Liberty because we have nothing. My people were starving and freezing to death and the Empire of Liberty offered us a home. I’m not a citizen of Euphoria Kingdom anymore.” “Hmm...okay if you say so. You can stay here for three days ma’am Karen if you’re uncomfortable inside my mansion you are free to bring your own guards.” “Thank you for the offer, I shall gladly take it but it’s unfair if you are the only one who will give something to us. Allow me to give you a gift as well.” Anastasia handed another file, “Listed on those files are a variety of foods and vegetables that you haven’t tasted in your life. Please if you allow us to let our ships unload their cargo to their port using the metal box.” Karen took a glance at the file and all the food listed there is odd. Curious, she decided. “I allow it.”
