Brief Meeting of High Command

After putting her back to the bed, he asked the doctors taking care of her to watch her closely. As the doctor takes his place, Michael heads to one of the houses in the abandoned village.

“Sir, the mansion is now cleared, you can now replace it with the White House.”

She merely said, Michael, opened his system and used it again to summon the White House.

In an instant, the mansion that was standing firmly in the abandoned village was replaced by the famous building in his world.

Michael was shocked as he wandered his eyes on the contour of the Palladian building.

“This is truly a White House…”

Seven days later...Michael attended the meeting of the high command at the High Command Palace located in Command.

Michael took the host’s seat as he prepared for the others to arrive. The meeting room is a simple room with a large rectangular table.

Seeing that he is the first one to arrive here, he leaned back in his seat to relax and think about what he should do in the future…

“General, I have the papers here for today’s briefing.”

Unfortunately, he gave up the thought and quickly fixed it in his seat and then turned his head and saw Raphael carrying a handful of files and promptly thumped it softly in front of him.

“These are the files from the Department of Intelligence, Department of Navy, Department of Air Force, Department of Army, Department of Research and Development, and Department of Treasury.”

Michael sighed deeply, seeing that a single file contains a lot of papers.

“Hey, why is it too much? I thought I finished this yesterday?” Michael complained and was quite reasonable, within those three arduous tasks are commissioning new ships, handling food supply, acknowledging construction plans for new facilities that will be conventionally built, and visiting the airbase for inspection. If this is not hard, he doesn’t know what is.

However, Raphael scoffed only as if insinuating that the task is easy. She stood beside him.

“General, those are your sole duties and must be done by you..” She simply said.

Then someone entered the room, they were four of them to be exact, those are new faces that he hasn't seen or interacted with before. But he can tell that they are young and seemingly in their mid-twenties. Similar to him.

One of them walked forward and saluted dutily.

“General, I’m glad to see you in person as this is my first time seeing you, my name is Reed, Enterprise, you can call me Enterprise. A pleasure to meet you, sir.”

Michael took a close look at her and the first impression that he has on his mind is simply “beautiful”. She has long white hair that droops all the way to her waist, a large bust, and a slender body enough to charm him.

Appearance-wise, she wears a white sleeveless shirt, a black tie, and a belt around her waist complemented with a short black skirt with golden trimmings and knee-thigh tights with boots.

Comparing her beauty to Raphael, they were just the same as the only difference that separates them is their hair color.

After introducing herself, Enterprise removed her long black jacket with golden trimmings and handed it over to her secretary, and sat into the chair designated for her.

The second one walked forward, this time it was not a female but a young man in his early twenties. He gives an impression of a young commander wearing a white service uniform. Analyzing his appearance. He has blonde hair and red eyes.

Then that man bowed and introduced himself reverently.

“General, it’s a pleasure to meet you again this time as we met before in our battle. My name is James Robert, or formerly Sergeant James Robert but now I’m a General, looking forward to working with you.”

“Ohh…” Michael can’t help but astonish at his soft voice that soothes everyone here, he is also shocked that the man in front of him is James himself.

The third person is a man in his early twenties, similar to James this man has looks as well with brown wavy hair wearing a black service uniform.

“It’s nice meeting you General Stevens, My name is General William Lennox of the Air Force Department.”

After his introduction he casually heads to his seat, sitting beside Enterprise.

Another man walked forward, it was also a young man with hazel-brown hair. Compared to the other three, this man is not wearing any military uniform but instead a black formal suit that gives an impression of a lawyer or a CEO.

“I’m the head of the Intelligence Department, Benjamin Hunt.”

Michael nodded beckoned him to sit.

“Now that everyone is here...let’s push forward on our agenda for today…” Michael snapped his finger, signaling Raphael, her second-in-command to hand them the files.

Everyone opened their files and scanned the contents. Everyone’s eyes widened.

“As of now, we don’t have a proper name yet. I got tired of calling the Abandoned Village as an Abandoned village and Command as Command. I gathered you here because you’re the highest in your department so I want your help on naming our base—no our country since it will grow in the future more I level up.”

“If that was the case General, how about we name it the Eagle Empire because you know it’s intimidating and cool…”

James voiced out his suggestion but felt a pain in his stomach at the nudge of Enterprise.

“That name is shallow, how can you think of a name so ugly like that? If there is a nation here that heard our name, what do you think they will think?”

James shrugged his shoulder.

“They will not be intimidated rather they will laugh at us. Please consider the words that are coming out of your mouth next time.”

A piercing gaze sent a chill to James' spine...This girl is kind of scary—.

“Enterprise, please mind your manners in front of our supreme leader.”

Raphael glared at Enterprise who rejected the opinion of James…the atmosphere turned heavy at the clash of their intimidating aura.

“Raphael it’s okay, calm down.” Michael stopped Raphael turning her back to her normal self.

“Sorry, General.”

“I’m very sorry, General.” Enterprise bowed her head.

“Pay it no heed, but next time please respect the opinion of others, Enterprise.”

“I will be careful next time.”

“Okay next.” Michael glanced at the two who were quiet. “Do you have a name that comes to your mind?”

William shook his head, an indication that there is nothing in his mind.

“I’m sorry General but I’m bad at coming up with names.”

“Me too, General.”

The two prompted, making Michael a bit sad since there are no available names at the moment. So instead of them coming up with names, Michael tries to come up with something in their standards.

In his deep thought came a name.

“How about the Empire of Liberty?”

As he said that, everyone looked at him strangely. He knew it, the name is so simple, to begin with. It was just an alternate name of his homeland in the previous world. Of course, they will reject it—.

“Sir, that is a marvelous name!”

It was not the word that he was expecting. He looked back and saw jubilated Raphael. Maybe she likes the name?

“General, it’s a good name. I think it is more suitable than the Eagle Empire.” Enterprise meekly said someone got hurt at her words.

“Yes sir, it’s a good name.”

“Then are we all in agreement that the name of our military base will be called Empire of Liberty?”

Everyone nodded.

“Okay, the name is settled as for the name of Abandoned Village, let’s call it city A for now—.”

“Sir please wait…”

Benjamin interjected, stopping Michael from naming the village.

“What is it?”

“This will be our next agenda which is the information gathered. If I may.”

“You may now have the floor.” Michael granted.

“Okay, please turn your files and go to page 16...it has a title of “Current Information.’”

Done.

“The image that you will see there was taken from our U-2 Spy plane and SR-71 Lockheed. Those images show where we are and the neighboring town. There are three towns to be exact, each has a distance of at least 300 kilometers away. Now for the information that we’ve gathered from Anna, who is the sole survivor in the underground prison of the mansion, gives us something crucial about this place.”

Michael exclaimed as hear the words Anna again but there is this feeling of uncertainty because of the fact that the Intelligence Department manage to talk with her despite the language barrier.

“How were you able to extract information from her?”

“Sir we have the best linguist in our ranks and Anna was very cooperative.”

“Hmm...okay continue.”

“We are situated west of the Kingdom of Euphoria, a monarchical government. The kingdom comprises five regions: Western Region, Central Region, Eastern Region, Southern Region, and Northern Region. We are located on the west side of the Western Region. The name of this abandoned village is called Willow Town. According to Anna, it acts as an early warning to Marlton City for monster invasion and when the invasion day comes, the people will seek refuge, making this city look like a ghost town.” Benjamin finished.

“I see, so that’s the reason why this town looks abandoned because they sought refuge there” He realizes something.. “Then does that mean that they will return?”

“Likely sir.” Benjamin confirmed, “Anna said that they will return after the winter which will be in two months.”

“Then this is bad...we’ve already built our stronghold here...This is really bad.” Enterprise interjected, Michael agreed on her words, the moment they return will be a huge problem to them. Imagine if a country finds a foreign military on its soil. It’s a big problem.

“It is indeed unfortunate but we have no choice but to stay here. I've summoned a lot of facilities here. I’m sorry, this is my mistake, I should’ve gathered information first.” Michael said in a dejected expression.

“This is not your only problem sir, this is also ours. We failed as your soldiers…”

“No...let’s try not to point fingers for now. Benjamin, please give me the detailed report to my residence.”

“Yes.”

Benjamin takes his seat.

“As for the other departments, please report.”

“Sir, the Army has a population of 30,000, twenty thousand of them being support personnel and are ready for combat. They are stationed all over the perimeter of the Empire of Liberty.” James reported.

“As for the Navy, we have two naval fleets. One is stationed at the ocean, the other is stationed at the river wide enough for a fleet to get in. They are doing oceanographic surveys as we speak.” Enterprise reported.

“As for the Air Force, we are continuing on our aerial surveillance and reconnaissance. We will give you the detailed report at the White House.” William reported.

“Very good.” Michael praised. “As expected of my generals. I want you to continue on your good work and give me the best result. Now let’s adjourn this brief meeting, you may all leave now.”

Everyone saluted him and began to leave, leaving Michael and Raphael behind.

“Raphael cleared my schedules for today, I want to meet with Anna. I want to congratulate her personally.”
