I stretched, feeling the exhaustion settle into my bones as I massaged the ache in my neck. With a tired sigh, I made my way out of the locker room, my eyes scanning the diner for any sign of Ash. He was nowhere to be found.
“He left,” Vivian said from behind the counter, breaking my train of thought.
I turned to face her, surprised. “That’s odd. He was so adamant about staying. I wonder what changed his mind.”
