Chapter 73

1415 Words

~ALLISON’S POV~ I stared at Cara’s sleeping face, watching the slow, steady rise and fall of her chest. She looked peaceful now, but a few hours ago? It had been chaos. If it weren’t for Ash’s reckless, borderline terrifying driving, we might not have made it in time. And even when we did get to the hospital, it didn’t stop there. Ash had nearly knocked a doctor out. One second, we were begging for help, and the next, he was grabbing the guy by the collar, and shoving him against the wall when he dared to ignore us. I’d barely managed to pull Ash back before security pinned him down, and if it weren’t for a nurse—who somehow talked him down—we would have been kicked out. Now, Cara was stable. The doctors had flushed her system, and they assured us she just needed rest.
