~ALLISON~ I sighed, clutching my handbag as I headed for the door. What had I just agreed to? A date with Justin? I should have known better. The thought alone made my stomach twist. Descending the stairs, I paused mid-step. Ash stood at the bottom, leaning against the railing with his arms crossed, as though he had been waiting for me. His gaze was sharp, almost expectant. My heart sank, but I forced myself to move. If he wanted to talk, he'd have to do it without me. Ignoring him completely, I continued down the stairs, making a beeline for the exit. I almost made it. "What do you think you're doing?" His voice was low, sharp. Before I could answer, he grabbed my wrist, stopping me in my tracks. "Ash, let me go." My voice was even, though the tension in my chest was undeniable.
