“What?” Rose asked, seeing my face. She looked before I could answer. Her mouth dropped open in horror. “I didn’t do that. I swear!” “You didn’t do any of this. None of this is your fault,” I reminded her. She wasn’t buying it. Worse than that, we were running out of time. If we couldn’t retreat, and we couldn’t go under, over, or through it, only one option was left. “Let’s go,” I said, following the fence around. It took over a minute to work our way around the border of the compound. Not once during that time did we see another way in or movement on the grounds. They had to know that we were here by now.
