Letter to the Congregation

209 Words
For many years, The faith in Christ I shared with you Obedience, to the religion Undefiled. With all my life I showed you love Now all knives Are out for me You forsake me You pray, am cursed The darkest days Remember! I stood by you When joy knew not your heart. For your trouble I made it mine In your sorrow I took no pleasure Yet, you cast me out among your mist You spat woefully, upon my face The holy temple you said I've defiled You forbade me You said, am bewitched. In my miseries, you rejoiced You turned your back at me But why has thou forsaken me this time I need you more? Remember, o, brethren! That my family you are in Christ. I lament to thee day and night I've made a song Of my darkest days "Not the end of the world My God tells me so. For He had listen to my cries. Of my faith, He said I've been tested And the pangs, He said Endure, you will conquer Then upon my head He placed the crown For a conqueror I am Christ. Seeing that I have been tested of my faith The mercies of the lord had stayed with me.
