Before the pulpit stood Rev. John
Causing his followers a deep sleep
With his prosaic boring sermon
As the sleep got them too deep.
Who will wake the sleepy heads
When other preachers all sleep
Rev. John's Boring Sermon
Never got these people too deep.
But why did all of them fall asleep
When the sermon was still going on.
Some sleep leaning on the wall
While some sleep, as their bibles fall.
From their hands the holy book fell off
This is what happened when he talked off.
So shocking the Reverend couldn't speak.
Of the sleepiness that lured them so quick.
But onto him it was a shame
When he stood preaching to the people and they all sleep away.
Even when He mentioned on behalf of that holy name.
The people he administered the sleep they couldn't do away.
Nevertheless He stood there for a while preaching long
About the heavenly message he had gong.
Wake up from your slumber, the devil is a liar"
Reverend John shouted, preaching in high pitches.
There's no point allowing the devils to close your eyes people!
He said hitting the pulpit with his fists in angst.
The people startled to their feet, trembling.
Reverend John can't be preaching like this.
Not again, we can't sit and watch him preaching.
So Some stood up with their families to the gate.
What a boring sermon Reverend John will always gives.
The people said they had learnt no impact from the teaching.
How would you listen
When you allow the devil to comes in.
You gave him the space to distract your peace.

He stopped the sermon
And among the first to leave the church.
Saying goodbye to everyone who belonged.
At least for their patience for staying that long
Even when they were all falling asleep.
While he had been preaching to himself.
No single soul had listened when he stood before the pulpit
Is it true it was the devil who closed their eyes
