Adrien Texture POV
Watching as the car drove away, I smiled to myself. Ginger Fields was tough but so was I. I was not going to rest till I had her and she had better believe it.
As I walked back into the house, I laughed to myself and looked at the time, it was late. 10: 43 pm. Time well spent, I thought as I walked to the bar and poured myself a glass of liquor.
I knew that there was something about her from the moment I had seen her at the party and after the night we had together, I knew that there was no way I was just going to let her out of my sight or let her get away from me.
Every other meeting that we have had after that night has been coincidental and every time, it has been her avoiding me even with that I did not lose interest, instead, it fueled my interest. My want for her just increased.
That is why I wooed her till she agreed to have dinner with me. I had come up with a plan with the information that Roger had given me about her. I knew that she was going to see reason with what I offered her.
During the dinner, I got to know more about her and she intrigued me the whole time, even when she tried to be threatening. I came to the realization that no matter what she did or how stubborn she got, I was still going to woo her till she agreed to date me.
I left the bar with my filled glass and went back up to the balcony and then I walked to the edge, right where Ginger had been earlier on, there I stood and let the soft breeze fan me as I continued sipping my drink. I was enjoying the drama.
Who would have thought that my summer in Suncity would be this interesting?
Definitely not me.
I had stayed away from this town for the longest time, only coming around when it was very important.
I had to come this summer to make a few major changes to the company and now that I was here, I did not regret my decision because, from the look of things, a lot more was going to change.
There was now a woman I was interested in. It had been a while since I was in a serious relationship, lots of flings and one night stands but a serious relationship? No.
I looked forward to being in one now. In fact, I craved it this time. I wanted to see how dating this stubborn red haired lady was going to be.
Laughing to myself I looked at what was left in my glass and then I drank to us saying,
“Cheers to us, Ms. Fields.”
Ginger Fields POV
As we left the Texture residence, the car drive was in silence, I thought of the night I had just had and what it meant in the grand scheme of things.
6 months did not seem like a long time but considering the fact that I was going to be spending the days of those 6 months with an incorrigible man, it might be a lot longer than it looks like.
I remember watching a movie where a lady had been in a similar situation as mine, it was a rom com and I had enjoyed it but I had laughed about it and even said,
“There is no way that happens in real life.”
But here I was trying to make a decision in the same situation the lady had been in, I rolled my eyes and promised myself to never condemn certain situations again as it might just be you next time.
Just as I was lost in my thoughts I got a text notification, I opened my purse and checked, and then I saw that I got a text from Lucille.
“Hey girl”
“Heyy,” I texted back
“Are you done? “She asked,
“Or are you still at his place?” she ended that with a wink emoji.
Rolling my eyes, I replied, “I am done,”
“On my way back home now.”
“Ouuuu how did it go?” Lucille asked then added
“I want to hear everything”
“And I mean, everything!”
I laughed softly and replied,
“It was okay, more than I had bargained for sincerely but nothing I cannot handle.”
“Should I call you?” she texted me.
Then before I replied to her text, I got a call from her.
I chuckled and picked the call,
“What is wrong?” She asked immediately I picked up the call.
“Nothing I can not handle, Lucille. But I need your two cents on a decision I am about to make.” She was already saying something but I cut her short and added, “I will call you when I get home or after your flight when you get back home.”
I knew that Lucille got the message that I could not talk or I did not want to talk at that moment so she did not even push on the issue,
“Okay, you do not have to call tonight. Just let me know when I get home. I will be leaving first thing tomorrow morning so I will call you when I settle at home.”
“Alright, Lu. Thank you.”
“Good night, love. Take care.”
“You too boo.”
After ending the call, I looked outside the tinted window of the car and realized that we were now a few blocks from my place.
Finally, I thought as we got to my house.
As Roger stopped the car, he said,
“We are here, miss.”
“Yes, I can see that.”
Then he got out and walked to my side of the car.
“Thank you for the ride, Roger,” I said as Roger opened the door and helped me out of the car.
“You are welcome, miss. Have a good night.” He replied as he closed the door.
“You too. Good night.” I said as I walked to the door.
The moment after I walked into the house and closed the door I heard the car drive off and that was when I leaned my back on the door, closed my eyes, and sighed.
Then I smiled, this was the most interesting night I have had in a while, and even though the billionaire playboy who has made it so was probably my worst enemy at the moment I could not help but thank him for that.
It fueled my spirit and if he wanted to play I was going to give him something to play with because two can play that game.
