The meeting had finally ended, the tension lingering in the air like the dying embers of a once-roaring fire. I knew where Gabriel would go, his sanctuary, the place he always sought when the weight of the world became too much.
As I left the meeting room, my footsteps echoed softly down the long, marble corridor, a path I knew all too well. The estate was vast, its many rooms and hallways a labyrinth of memories, both cherished and painful. I moved through the winding hallways, passing ornate mirrors and ancient tapestries that seemed to watch me with silent understanding.
