Nessa POV
Argh,” a heavy scream broke the silence of the room while Blaze’s face, wet with concern, looked deeply into my eyes with affection.
The contractions tore through my flesh, my body weak as my screams echoed through the room.
“Just one push, baby.” Those were the words that came out of Blaze's mouth, who clutched my hands firmly.
I sucked in a deep breath, my breathing ragged, with beads of sweat running down my face as an agony tore through me.
“Just one push, you have got this,” Blaze said, his tone softening.
I cried out as the pain shot through me.
Then, a baby's cry pierced through the air.
Warmth flooded my belly as the midwife lifted the child, gently placing him into Blaze's arms.
“Congratulations, Luna, it’s a boy,” the midwife said with a bright smile.
Tears poured down my eyes as I looked at the child, who was proof of our love for each other.
“Our first pup, Nessa, you did it.” Blaze’s face lit up with joy as he scooped the pup into his arms.
“He looks cute,” Blaze said, cradling the infant with smiles beaming down his face.
Something flickered through his gaze; his smile vanished immediately.
His expression darkened while examining our child's wrist.
“Why does our child have the mark of the storm crest pack?” His voice rang out sharp, shooting me a glare.
My blood ran cold.
A silver birthmark appeared on my son's wrist, glowing brightly under the watchful eyes of the moon.
“Nessa, did you cheat on me?” Blaze's voice thundered in the room.
I trembled, my heart shattering into pieces as he threw the question at me.
My eyes widened in disbelief as his hands curled into fists with rage brimming in his eyes.
I swallowed hard as those cruel words tugged at his lips.
“No, Blaze, I didn’t,” my voice cracked through the air like a whip.
“I didn't cheat on you,” I whispered, my body shaking with his gaze locked on me.
Heat radiated through my body; his eyes rounded in anger with something flashing in his expression.
“Why is this on his wrist then?” his deep voice cuts through me, sending a chill crawling into my spine.
The Stormcrest pack and the Crescent Moon pack had been longtime enemies, and my arrival in the Crescent Moon pack fueled their rivalry further.
“Our son has this mark because I was the sole heir of the storm crest, the strongest pack of all.” These were the thoughts pondering in my mind, but I couldn't let him know.
I gave up my wolf and identity to be with Blaze, the man I swore to love.
“He has that mark because…” Before I could answer, heavy footsteps clicked against the ground, approaching us.
Britney Blaze’s longtime fiancee and Camille, who was Blaze’s mother, emerged from the shadows, their penetrating eyes laid on me.
My chest twisted with dread, coiling into my belly as they approached.
Silence engulfed the room.
“Because what?” Britney snapped, her tone dripping with disdain and her face cowering into a scowl.
My heart sank at the sound of Britney's voice.
“You are just a wolf-less rogue,” she murmured, her lips curving into a sneer, raising her jaw.
“There's no way you gave that mark to your son,” she added, chuckling darkly while batting her eyelashes at me.
I could picture the evil smirk on her face, and my heart breaks at this comment.
Britney's nose flared up as she moved towards Blaze, trying to sniff his scent coldly.
“This bastard’s child’s father must be from the Storm Crest pack,” she whispered, her nose wrinkled with disgust as she looked at Blaze utterly confused.
“You are too foolish, son,” his mother said with a straight face.
“I told you rogues can't be trusted.” "Camille," his mother spat in a tone I had never heard before, breaking my ribs apart.
“That's not true; I am from the storm crest,” I explained with tears climbing up my throat.
A harsh laugh echoed in the room as all eyes turned to me.
My heart clogs with different emotions.
Britney leaned closer as she lifted her hands to strike me.
I bit my lip, registering the burning pain as she cast a glance filled with hatred at me.
“You don't even have the storm crest mark, so stop spilling lies,” she snapped through her bared teeth, her words dripping with malice.
I shivered as Britney's eyes curled into something sinister.
“Blaze,” I called out, but he didn't pay attention to me.
“Nessa, I trusted you,” he yelled angrily with resentment in his eyes.
“Blaze, he is really our child; you have to believe me.” My voice cracked as I stumbled to the ground.
“I swear it's our child,” I said, my voice barely a whisper, with tears clouding my sight.
“No, don't trust her.” Britney c****d her head to the side with a hardened look.
“Okay, she is just a rogue with no wolf, no power,” Camille cuts in, glaring down at me.
“She has just been using you all along,” Britney snarled, sending a mocking glance my way.
“So that's it, huh? You sleep with the members of the Storm Crest for favors.” He spoke in a disgusted tone that punched me in the guts.
“If he is really my blood, try and convince me that's my son,” he said with glazed eyes frowning deeply at me.
“My wolf is sealed; I can't prove I am the heir of the storm crest.” Those were the thoughts running in my mind.
“See, she’s speechless,” Britney growled in a menacing tone, gritting her teeth.
“This is a disgrace, Blaze,” she muttered, placing her hand on Blaze's shoulder.
“You need to break the bond with her now,” she demanded, and my stomach dropped.
“I'm wolf-less; if he rejects me, I will die,” I begged desperately as Britney pressed him.
“And please, no,” I pleaded as tears fell freely down my face.
“And for this bastard child, I say we kill it,” she declared.
