Nessa POV "No, no, don't hurt my baby," I whispered, my voice cracking as a cruel smile curved on Britney's lips, her gaze murderous, which made my stomach twist. Britney looked at me with disdain in her eyes, lifting my baby in her arms, her hand freezing midair as if she were carrying something dirty. Panic consumed me watching my child in distress, my arms shaking. “Please don't do this; just give my child back.” I dropped to my knees, my hands turning white with tears pooling in my eyes. “Oh no, you don’t want me to hurt it.” She sounded disgusted, swinging the baby in the air, her eyes running over me. My chest heaved at her words, so cold that I felt a thrill down my spine. “Stop, you will kill my child,” I screamed, my voice breaking with concern under my breath. I crawled forward, my knees scratching against the floor, biting back the pain in my abdomen as my clothes were covered in bloodstains, a testament to childbirth. My wrists burned, my eyes stinging with the sharp edges digging into my feet, hitting the gravel as I moved closer towards Blaze. “Why should I spare this child?” She asked, rolling her eyes at me. “Oh, well, then admit that you cheated on Blaze and let him break the bond with you,” she spat harshly, her words biting through me, her voice growing louder at the accusation. The words struck me like daggers, echoing painfully in my ears. “Blaze, please, please, please, don’t let them hurt our baby,” I whispered with a low whimper escaping my bottom lips, kneeling at his feet. I clutched his clothes firmly, my nails tugging in my palm, his eyes towering over me, holding no atom of affection in his gaze. He watched me silently, burying his face in his hands like an abandoned puppy as color drained from his gaze, flashing with an unknown emotion. Tears burned my eyelids, and I wished the ground could swallow me. The humiliation was too big to endure, but I must go through this for the safety of my child. Camille stepped forward, her eyebrows creasing in frustration, snapping my hands away from his clothes. She marched towards me, grabbing my jaw and squeezing it into her large hands. I winced in pain as her long nails penetrated deep into my skin, leaving me injured. “I don't have such a grandchild,” she parted her lips, hardening her heart. Her words filled the silent air as she stood with her golden eyes staring at me intensely, which seemed to haunt my soul. My heart broke more than it ever had. “Blaze, kill that bastard child,” Britney muttered, my eyes heating up with pain, aching all over my body. “No,” my voice was strained, feeling dry as I managed to croak out, ignoring the fatigue in my body. “Three,” she raised her chin with a slight smile creeping on her lips, moving her fingers. I have never felt terror like this as my palms became clammy with her gaze pinning me down, which made my heart race. Beads of sweat layered on my forehead as she shot me an annoying look. “Please, I swear, I swear you have to believe me,” I whispered in a broken tone, choking on my sobs. She chuckled darkly, her temper flaring, gripping the baby tightly. Fear coursed through me thinking about my baby's safety as he was clasped in her palms. “Two, I swear, I swear I'm telling the truth; just give him back to me.” Her dark brows furrowed together, her skin pale, and her grip on the baby seemed to get tighter, breaking my heart. “Just break the bond with me, and I will die in the place of my son.” My breath was heavy as anger rolled inside her in waves. Before I could say anything else, the baby's cries echoed in the room, paralyzing my senses. “Enough,” Blaze snarled, his growl rippling through the thin air as he bared his fangs at her. Her eyes widened, her jaw dropped, and her hands trembled with the way he was glaring at her. “Please spare this child.” I begged my eyes closed, trying to control the excruciating pain shooting through me, with fear evident in my voice. His face was devoid of emotions as he snatched the baby away from her. Her eyes widened, struck in disbelief, twirling around with a horrified look on her face. “What? Blaze, this isn't your child.” Britney said, her voice sharp, cutting through the air like a whip, her gaze boring into him. “This is a disgrace, son. You are the alpha of this pack, so you must set an example for your followers,” Camille said, frowning deeply at his actions. “I'm an alpha, not a murderer,” he snapped with guilt, crossing his eyes. “She's just a powerless rogue, and they pose no threat,” he addressed the issue, looking straight into my eyes. I stiffened, my heart beating wildly in my chest, his voice dripping with scorn lingering on me. “We will keep them as slaves,” he acknowledged with an unreadable expression on his face. “Slaves? Britney asked with lowered eyes, with her hands folded over her chest. “Yes.” His growl reaches my ears with a heavy sigh escaping my lips as my head rolls back. “Keep your enemies closer, and that’s final,” he ordered. “You betrayed me, Nessa,” he said with a deep gulp forming on his throat, feeling like his ribs were torn apart. “Consider this my final mercy,” he said, placing the child gently in my arms, his tone softening. “You will be staying in the maid's quarters. Even though you are slaves, you are still mine,” he commanded with a growl rumbling in his chest. He turned away slowly, his footsteps echoing with the others following closely behind him. “Blaze, I gave up my wolf and my pack to be with you. Is this how you are supposed to treat me and our child?” That was the question burning on my lips as I cradled my baby. “We can't go back now, and even though I don't have my wolf, Mommy will always protect you,” I mumbled to myself with a dizzy spell taking over me.
