She didn't answer me immediately. I was expecting her to stay quiet, but of course, that didn't mean a thing to me. She just needed to take some time and breathe, and after that she would answer me. After all, that was what had happened a few seconds ago. She had taken a few minutes to come to terms with what was happening, and then she had spoken to me. I guessed that that was what I would need to keep doing for the rest of this conversation, but at least my patience would be put to the test.
