“Ari, chocolate, vanilla, or butter pecan?” Maddie asks.
My eyes light up, “Butter pecan, please.”
“Vanilla ice cream, right?” Phil asks, already knowing the answer.
“Yes,” I laugh.
He hands me the styrofoam bowl with two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream. I walk over to the table, sitting my plate and bowl down. Sia looks up at me, her mouth full of ice cream, and starts laughing. I laugh as I sit down. Kai and Ryker’s eyes follow me as I sink onto the seat. Everyone is watching and waiting for me to take the first bite. I playfully shove the fork in my mouth with a massive piece of cake on it, and everyone starts laughing. I flick the fork lightly, signaling everyone to dig in. I have to admit, this cake is damn good!
“Mmm,” I say.
