PAST

It was 6 am when my alarm went off. Today was Monday. Survey says that Monday is the hatest day but to me, it is a relief. No one wants to go to school on weekends right?

But for me, I've to do my house chores and not to forget grocery shopping. You see living on self isn't an easy task for a mere 18 yr old foreign student. I'm in secondary high school currently preparing for boards exam.

Only six months left, until then endure it Hida. When I came here, It took me one whole month to settle down, moreover here people are also quite friendly and welcoming.

I've 2 crazy friends Natalia and Jordan, and I was glad to find that Natalia was also from my home country whereas Jordan is from Italy. Plugging my phone in charger, setting my bag with books I take a cold mind freshening shower to kick my sleepiness away.

I wear a simple brown loose pullover and sweats with sneakers. Walking in my kitchen I prepare a simple yogurt and strawberry smoothie and a cup of strong coffee to kick start into my system. Securing the locks, I wait near poles for Natalia to arrive.

I see black Nissan from a distance indicating the arrival of Natalia. I hop in the shotgun.

"hey! Hida" Natalia greeted cheerfully with a smile as bright as sunlight.

"Hello! Talia" I too replied in a sing-song voice buckling the seatbelts.

"Did you finished the assignment Mr. Thwart gave, she said that today's the only day she'll take" Panic arose in me listening to her.

"Oh no! I literally forgot. What will I do now! Will she be okay if I submit late?" GOD damn it! how can I be so careless, on the top in her class only!! she is not even one of those lenient teachers.

"Oh miss! well, you can skip chemistry classes and complete it in the library" My lifesaver, I swear if she wasn't here I don't know what I would have done.

"Right"

After she parked the car in the parking lot, we got out only to be crushed by Jordan. we greeted each other then made our way to the locker.

"Did you heard the news of the recent incident near the alleyway" Jordan's thick accent-coated voice spoke through the bustling corridors.

"Nope!"

"Yup! neither did I"

"Well, a man was brutally murdered. It's their deed only" Well it got our attention, with a curious look on our face me and Talia asked in a quiet voice

"Whose deed"

"Jesus! Where the hell do you guys live to not even know about them, the DE'LUCA'S. The most powerful mafia family. They are messed up in their heads. Even psychopath word fails in front of them."

Hearing the name only sends a cold shiver down my spine. I can only pray to never cross paths with them.

'If only I knew wishes only come true in fairytales'

"Girls! Is there something more important than the class lectures" Mr. Hamel, our P.T teacher asked in his oh not so sweet voice.

"No mam"

"Get to your classes, NOW!" We literally ran to our specific classes.

Walking through the cafeteria to our table, we made our way to Jordan with our tray of French fries, coke, and burger.

"Hey guys"

"Hey ya!"

"Wassup!" I too replied with a French fry in my mouth while sitting properly on the chair like a real human being.

"Are you guy's coming for the trip"

"YUP"

"It's our last year so hell yeah!"

After my shift at the bakery, I made sure to check the locks and changed the sign to close. Tired as hell I made my way to my house through the alleyway since it's the shortest way to my house. In my mind going on an on a list of things, I need to do tomorrow-

1. Get the laundry done.

2. Buy groceries

3. Complete the DNA replication proj....

the crunching of dried-up leaves snapped me out of my thoughts. Now when I'm not so much drowned in my thoughts only I notice the eerily silent surrounding.

And I would be the biggest liar if I said I wasn't scared at all. For a second, It feels as if I'm a low-budget horror movie heroine.

Ya know I have a feeling the moment I turn around I would be met by an ugly and hideous face with opposite feet and spooky features.

'stop hida you're just paranoid why would a ghost as beautiful as you be afraid of another'

Is my subconscious mocking me or assuring me! seriously I don't like my subconscious is there a way out somewhere to change it!?

I don't know why but I just have a feeling of being watched it's too intense. A bone-chilling shiver went down my spine, my mind is screaming at me to run.

But I'll be brave, turn around - watch - if danger - run like a cheetah. I turn around praying to god to let it be just my paranoia.

Turning around I'm met with a man nah not a man a greek god near a car taking out something from his thigh. WAIT thigh, looking closely I saw blood on his thigh.

Is that tiny silver thing bullet that he is taking out as if it's not a bullet in his thigh but a popcorn from a bowl?!.

"Hey! are you okay? should I take you to hospital? or should I call ambulance? do you need help.." I'm cut off by his deep husky voice

"No"

"Are you sure? cause you are shot and I think it might get infected as it's an open wound.." again I'm cut off by his large thick finger on my lips which send's electrifying tingles down my whole body successfully shutting me up.

Tilting my head up I saw the most beautiful amethyst green eyes ever which are so rare, despite it's alluring beauty there's a darkness lurking behind those eyes as if, a silent warning.

His whole aura screams authority, dominance in a dark way, and something more sinister which I can't figure out. There's something off about him, everything about him screams me to run away, run away far to hills. But no, since I decided to be a saint.

Only if I knew at that time! what it would bring in my fate.

Realising that I was openly gawking at him like a creep, I averted my gaze to his injured wound.

Silently asking if I can check it to which he just stared at me with an intense gaze with an unreadable emotion in his eyes which scared me a bit, getting a bit uncomfortable I took steps back only to be pulled back into a hard solid chest.

Tilting my chin up, looking me in the eyes he asked in his deep baritone voice

"What's your name tesoro?"

"Umm! Hida.."

"Don't you know tesoro its dangerous to roam around here at such late night" Its the first time I met this man and he is already making me feel like a child not just by his bulky frame but also with the way he is treating to me.

Just as I was about to answer I heard ringing of phone, I think its his phone. Taking his hands off me he recieved his phone, and talked in hush voice which I didn't heard cuz I did not wanted to eavesdrop. All the time while talking his dark intense eye's were on me.

Looking at the time I realise its quite late, I should probably go home after making him go to hospital. Cutting his call he made his way toward me. I started in a polite voice

"Look sir yo-..."

"Arosio"

"huh!!"

"Call me Arosio"

"Ohh! look si- uhh I mean Arosio you need to get medical help"

"Don't worry mio amore I will since you said but you need to go back to your home , and let this be the last time I find you at such an hour all alone."

"Am I clear?"

the way he said it made it clear he wasn't asking. His dark eyes dared me to defy to which I hesitantly replied

"Yes"

"Good, see you soon tesoro until then take care."

I can't descibe what scared me the most at this point his eyes which held some kind of dark promise or the way he said see you soon , what did he even meant by that.

with thousands of question swirling in my mind I made my way back home and flopped myself on my comfy bed with the last thought on my mind of those amethyst green eyes and the darkness behind them.
