Chapter 9

Jace POV

It's been 4 weeks since I told her about us and it's been going well so far. I been caught up in my work that I didn't even remember to get in touch with my dad so that's what I was gonna do.

"Hey dad, how you been?"

"I've been good son, just a few problems with the company but it's going well"

"If you want I can always come back to help you?"

"No no, it's not my time to retire yet" 

"OK, but if you do need help just tell me ok?"

"definitely, now, how's Chicago? have you found a girl that interest's you yet?"

"actually.......do you remember my childhood best friend?"

"hmm...........hold on, wasn't it that little Robinson girl your best friend?"

"Yea, well she's still here in Chicago, and I've been hanging out with her for a few weeks to rekindle the friendship we had, but dad....she turned out to be fine as hell"

"haha... well atleast that's good, she was a smart little girl, wasn't she?" 

"Yea, well dad I'll talk to you later cause I got one more concert here and then I'll be heading back home for a few months and we can hang out as much as you want."

"Ok son, take care"

"yea same, bye"

Tomorrow would be my last concert here and then I'd be leaving for home but I still wanted to talk to Elaine so we could hang out one last time.

Elaine POV

I was so tired when I got home that I didn't even take my makeup off, but when I saw who was sitting on my porch floor I couldn't even talk properly.

"What do you want?" I asked him

"Can't a dad just come visit his only daughter?"

"Which daughter? as far as i'm concerned I stopped being your daughter when you abandoned us instead of helping my mother!"

"Ellie, I'm sorry baby but...after your mother told me about her illness, I couldn't help seeing her suffer so I had to leave and I know that isn't any excuse but I was suffering for a long time too. Especially when you and your brothers refused to visit me on the weekends."

"Did you ever stop to think before giving her that divorce if it was going to help her in any way?! It ruined her even more and made her health worse! She fell into a deep depression and almost committed suicide many times and it hurt me even more! I hate you and I don't want to see you again now get off my porch before I call security on you"

"Ok, but if you ever forgive me, i'm always a phone call away"

"I won't call"

After he left I just started crying so much and couldn't seem to stop, so I called the last person I talked to the night before

"Hello?"

"*sniffles* are you busy right now?"

"Elaine..are you crying?"

"No *hiccup* I'm not I just wanted to see you"

"I'm on my way, stay there ok?"

"ok"

Jace POV

I was getting out the shower when I heard my phone ringing and saw that it was Elaine

"Hello?"

"*sniffles* are you busy right now?"

"Elaine..are you crying?"

"No *hiccup* I'm not I just wanted to see you"

"I'm on my way, stay there ok?"

"ok"

 It broke my heart to hear her so broken and it had me worried. What if that Jaylin guy tried to do something to her? or if she got hurt? ten minutes later I got off my car and into her apartment, I walked inside just to see her shattering a picture right across the wall and she was about to break another one when I grabbed her arms before she could throw it.

"Get off of me!" She yelled, and god damn she was loud.

"Hey, calm down ok, quit throwing the pictures around and calm down" I told her.

It took her a while to calm down and stop throwing things before she started talking to me

"....I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that or yell at you" she said

"Hey, it's ok, as long as you're safe i'm fine. Do you want to talk about what happened?"

"He came, he tried to justify why he left, but I didn't want to see him again, he wasn't suppose to come at all."

"Who is he?"

"He use to be my father, but now he's nothing to me, he left many years ago and it should have stayed that way"

To say that I was speechless would have been an understatement, my mind was blank. I didn't even think that her father could ever leave them, s**t the man use to take up every opportunity to hang out with his family even if he worked all day, they all seemed happy but of course, appearances do deceive many people. I had learned that at the vulnerable age of 10 with the lady that I use to call my mother left with her lover.

I decided to stay with her until she calmed down a little and I guess the emotional stress got her tired and fell asleep so I called her brother to tell him.

"hey"

"whats up?"

"your dad came by to see your sister"

"and you let him talk to her?!"

"no I wasn't here, she called me and she was crying so I came to see her. She's asleep now but she's really upset right now."

"ok, I'll see her in the morning. Good night."

"Good night."

I decided to stay a bit after to make sure she didn't start throwing things again and I ended up going to sleep here.

Elaine POV

It was around 5 am when I woke up and my head was throbbing so I went to the kitchen to get some pain killers but I didn't think I would see him there asleep.He looked so cute and I didn't even realize his hair was so long until I saw his hair strand reach his eye and he looked hot, but he also looked tired and that made me feel kind of guilty for adding up to his stress. "Checking me out I see."  I jumped when I heard his voice. When did he wake up? did he really just catch me checking him out?! "Ha not a chance, but you should cut your hair, it's too long already it reaches your eyes" I told him "So you were checking me out" he smirked. He actually smirked! Cocky much. "Coffee?" I asked him "Sure it should wake me up." he said "ok" it stayed quiet for a few more minutes until I heard my doorbell ring. "Ryan!" I yelled as I went to hug him but he didn't look happy and I wondered if he found out that dad had come by. "pack your things all three of us are staying in the mansion until he goes back where he came from" he said "But why? I'm fine he just came and I kicked him out." I told him. "So that explains the fact that Jace called me at 1 am telling me that my sister was throwing things around and crying herself to sleep because she saw our sperm donor?!" he yelled. Why would Jace tell Ryan anything? It wasn't like I was gonna die from seeing him. Was it? anyways I didn't have a choice, Ry was the oldest one and I had to listen to him.
