Alpha Wick POV

Zane sent me a package of Fayes Hair. With a note saying 'Accidentally plucked 2. Use the extra just in case!' I called Kane in. He kneeled before me as always "Yes Alpha wick?" I turn towards him,"Rise. I need you to take this DNA Zane delivered of this human and do not lose it. Take it to Dr. Rock and tell him Alpha Wick says this is an emergency." He rose up and nodded, turned his giant hand over for me to place into his palm. "Thank you, Kane." I tell him. "My pleasure, Alpha Wick." He turns away and leaves the room. There was a time I told Kane he was like a son to me, and he didn't have to be formal. Kane was undeniably loyal to me. He never lied, and he never made me worry. He was very punctual. He always kept up on taking care of long black hair. He kept a cleaned shaven face, and he kept up on his workouts. You could clearly see the flatter look on his face when I told him I was very grateful towards him. But Kane is 32 and had a tragic story. He lost his mother, father, brother, and sister from the raiders just like I lost my mate. The same raiders. Kane was completely broken. He was nearly starved and so dehydrated from his depression that he was nearly dead till I took him in and gave him purpose. A purpose of protecting the Alpha. I had promised him that they won't take any more of our pack lives and we will grow stronger and smarter as a union. Since then, any invaders have died without any mercy. The only time an outsider has lived is another Alpha from another pack has come to speak to me or if one of our pack members has mated from a different pack. We made it mandatory that our pups go through survival skills at the age of 5. They start to learn how their instincts work and how to fight. How to protect. Our older children, the ones who are nearly adults, have learned combat and learn the territory of our homes. Our escape plans for new mothers and babies. A system to not let raiders kill our family. Anyway, I read a letter that Gina is going rogue and trying to kill Zanes mate. Damn it, Zane, I told you Gina was Psycho but you never listen. "Kane!" I heard the door open a few seconds after I yelled out for him "Yes Alpha Wick?" His deep voice bellowed. "Call for the ranks 2 and 3. We're having a meeting about Zane, his human mate, and Gina, along with Ryan. It seems like they have gotten themselves into a sticky mess." Zanes feet started to turn as he walked out."Right away, Alpha Wick."
