Chapter 8: Conflicts

2 sexy familiar faces came into the restaurant, and it sent shivers down my spine. I haven't been talking to Zane, not because I don't like him, because I want to throw myself to him. I want to surrender myself to him. But he's still too new, I need to know more about him. Here I go again playing the safe game, but it's also because Shawn gives the vibe that he finds these mysterious men suspicious, and I am not sure why. But I do know he is a smart man. So I will control myself till I know why.

I started to walk over, but Sabrina sprinted past me. She makes herself seem to be easy, I feel like. She leads no teases anything to wonder about. Some guys find it cute, and some find it for only fun and then dump her. She jumps into Ryans arms and plants a fat kiss on his cheek. "Holy hell, how I missed you!" She squeals. Ryan put her down gently and chuckled, saying, "Wow, I miss you too, Lil lady." She waved at Zane while licking her bottom lip and bashed her eyes towards him. f*****g Sabrina sometimes can't control herself had to be center of attention, I thought to myself. I feel like slapping that flirtatious look She had to Zane. What Ryan wasn't enough? And then that's when Zane looked to me a sexy smile slowly spreading across his face as he started to me. He looked like I was dessert after a delicious meal. Sending tingles through my body and butterflies in my stomach. "What are you doing over there? Get over here and say hi to me, my little fox!" He yelled towards me. I couldn't tell why that made me so happy, and I started moving to him before I knew it like he was a magnet. He had his arms open for me to hug him. But like hell would I jump and kiss and squeal like Sabrina just did. I have a little more integrity. When I hugged him, he smelt like the woods. Such an earthy scent and rich. Must be nice to be out in the universe doing whatever you wanted.

When he let go, I felt like he was taking part of me into him. "What are you doing here? not that I'm mad you are."

ZANES POV

I smelt her, of course, as soon as I entered the restaurant. And her friend Sabrina a little flirt. If Faye wasn't my mate, I'd probably flirt with her back. I know that sounds bad, but she has these puppy eyes. But Sabrina can't live up to my gorgeous Faye, and that's when I looked around for her and saw this pouty little face. How cute I can't stop myself from smiling, so she does care. That means she's still interested. I need to hug this foxy little being.

When I did hug her, her hair smelt like warm vanilla, and her arms were smooth and soft. The only problem was that as soon as she melted into me, she stiffened like she didn't want to feel like when we touched eachother, felt like euphoria. My wolf was not approving and wanted me to swoon her fast because a week may not be fast enough to win her over. She's so complicated. I just need to know her secrets. Unleash and hold her to get her to know I wouldn't judge her. I just want her to love me. I answered her question on why we were here. "I came by because I missed seeing that beautiful smile of yours, and I feel like you've been avoiding me." She tensed up. I barely noticed. She must do this a lot to cover her feelings, but since I'm a wolf, I can sense things. especially if it's about her. She replied, a little shake in her voice. "I've just been busy. I am sorry I've been meaning to message, but you know I have a lot to do!" I gave her a smile trying to show I am not mad. I wanted to come off, not a huge, jealous freak. Even though I am, I just didn't know if coming off that way would scare her. "Will are you available today?" She but her lip and didn't say anything for second. It was like she was contemplating to say yes or no. "Uh, sadly, I am not. I have plans to go get frozen yogurt with Nick soon." She said, looking away like looking at me might make her shatter. "Oh well, maybe after that, we can hang out." I said with using effort to control my voice because I was angry. "Is it a date with Nick?" I asked before I even thought of even saying it out loud. She looked to me quickly and this time with eye contact. "No. I am just making amends with him. I was really rude to him this morning." Relieved it wasn't a date and frustrated my small time to make her fall for me was used by another guy and not just any guy a guy who lived in the same place and liked my girl and used it to sabotage me and Faye. I nodded and just said, "Then I'll be back for dinner." She looked like I was crazy. I know I was being pushy to see her, but I need every valuable moment.

"Faye, are you gonna cancel our plans for Prince Nightmare over there?" said Nick, starring daggers at me. She stepped away from me, and I wanted to grab her back and tell this asshole she's leaving with me. But human women are different, and she needed patience. So I'll control myself for you, Faye. I'll wait for you. "No, I was just telling him that, I was going out with you for a little." He smiled like he won the trophy. Which made my wolf rage who the f**k did this guy think he was? She looked back to me and said, "I'll see you for when you are here to have your dinner." She grabbed one hand of mine with both of hers lifted her head and smiled sweetly to me to let me know she'd be there to see me.

I gave that same smile back to Nick and nodded my head. She told me she had to go and motioned Nick to leave with her. As I watched them leave, I felt jealous, frustrated, and needed a game plan to get time with her.

Another mans scent I smelt earlier came out, and it was Shawn. He put his hand out towards me for me to shake and said, "Hey there, I'm Shawn, owner of this restaurant and housing Faye." Waiting for me to take his hand.
