"Sammie put me down!" Sam had his little ways when it came to me getting hurt. "Cassie you got hurt! Don't fight with me, please. I just want to take you to the nurses office." I rolled my eyes and hit his back with my fists. "Put me down you chunky monkey! I only tripped nothing happened." That was a lie, my foot hurt like hell, I just didn't want him to worry. "Hazel, do you wanna fight with me?" I hated when he pulled that card on me. Why would I wanna fight? I mean come on?! Hazel was his nickname for me. I was always the smallest friend he knew. He thought that it would be fun calling me that since I'm original and tiny and because my eyes are a hazel color.
"No." He pulled me up and sat me in the chair. I could see the smile he was trying to hide, that smile that just says "I won." I felt like smacking him. He knows I don't like fighting nor do I like loosing.
"Good, now go in there I'll be waiting outside." He pushes me towards the door and then gives me a tight hug. Ugh these hugs has me weak in the knees.
I stepped inside. " Ahhh miss Martez your back again? What's the matter?" The nurse was a sweet old lady that loved teenagers conversations. She thinks it's to funny how dramatic teenagers are. "Oh it's nothing . I bet it's just a little bruise. You know how Sam is." She looked me up and down, a smile forming on her face. "Very well then let me just take a look." It was blue. Nothing new for her eyes. She put some oil and lotion on it and told me to look after myself.
When I came out Sam's face lit up. " So what are we doing tonight?" He was back to old Sam. " I'm going home. I'll call you to come over." He gave me the puppy dog eyes and carried me to my moms car.
"Hi miss Martez," he greeted my mother. She loved him. "Cassie got hurt just make sure she takes care of that." My mom smiled " Will do, see you later. I'm making pasta." I knew he was coming, he loved my mom's pasta. " Thanks misses Martez, see you later Cassie." With that he ran off to his car.
"You know Cassie your gonna have to tell that boy why you bruise so easily. It's not considered gone yet, Cassie." I sighed, I know she was right. " Mom it's still the same it's not any worse at all, the last time I told him it was all gone he was so happy. I'm not taking that away." My mom looked at me and said. "If that's what you want Cassie. Just remember he will find out and if he does it's gonna hurt him a lot more." With that she drove off. I knew what she said was right but I wasn't ready to tell him, not yet.
