“Hi, Mom!” KC greeted her mother-in-law and kissed her cheek.
“How was school?” Eileen asked as she pulled out of the parking area.
“It was okay, not a lot of homework today.” She replied in relief.
It was a huge adjustment being in college after getting married. KC found herself the center of a lot of attention from her classmates and professors. She didn’t like it much. If she didn’t know removing her engagement and wedding ring would hurt her husband, she might’ve done so just to avoid the unwanted attention. But it seemed her classmates are getting used to her being married to a former professor at their university. She was relieved not to have been asked a single question about Steven today. She loves her husband but she’d rather keep her focus on her studies while in school.
