“Are you okay?” KC asked, watching anxiously. “Yep. Just a bit winded.” Steven admitted, taking a draft from his canteen. Three hours into their hike and they’ve already had at least half a dozen breaks. It was made necessary as he noticed he gets easily tired. Steven felt embarrassed each time KC turned to look at him solicitously, suggesting they pause to catch their breaths. He knew she was doing it for his benefit and though he appreciated it, he also felt it piercing his ego and vowed to get back to his old form. He hasn’t had a run for months.
