Chapter 4

The Reverberating sounds of the alarm jolted him from his subconscious, he had just closed his eyes barely an hour ago and now the sound of the alarm rang in his head forcing his eyelids open.

Trevor Williams is an early bird but the recent turmoil and overworking in the company has been keeping him awake forcing him to have little or no rest time.

He sat up in his bed and took in the silence of the large bedroom for minutes with his eyelids shut and his back against the bed frame, after a few minutes he walked towards his bedside hanger and slid on his robe without securing the belts in a knot casually flaunting his perfectly toned chest and chiseled abs as he walked over to his study and his side eye caught wind of someone beside the door.

right there was Aayla who didn't know what to do with herself at the moment cause the sudden movement and noise had startled her, the head housekeeper had only told her to get his bath ready cause he hated the sight or inconvenience of seeing his steward in his room yet he always wanted everything in order.

This was the reason a personal steward was at his service still they had to always avoid his presence prepare his bath before he got out of bed, prepare his breakfast before he was out, his shoes, and even his daily pressed fruit juice had to be ready before he gets into his car, everything had to be in perfection.

The only person he allowed in his personal space was Liam and Mr Davis who has been his driver since he was 9.

All of a sudden there was someone else right across his room, while he was awake. He took a few strides closer to her and made a grumpy expression that could be read as Who the hell are you!!!

Transfixed and confused as to what to do since she had been trained on what her new boss disliked and now the very first encounter they had she had broken his most rigid rule “Work like you are invisible”

She opened her mouth to explain but words failed her as the thought of losing this job on the first day was raving through her head right after making plans to pay for Nanna’s medication and supplements by the weekend.

She rubbed her already sweaty palm on the sides of her uniform before explaining that she was on her way out after fixing his bath and didn't think he be up and about that early. He stared at her intensely and her palms and nose bridge became a lot more sweaty and just when the nervousness had almost eaten her confidence away a stern voice echoed get out!!!

She swiftly rushed out of the room as fast as she could and immediately returned to her room.

While brooding on whether she'd be losing her job on the first day she picked up her phone and texted Addy about the little mishap only to realize that her friend would probably be asleep cause she stayed over at the academy and worked all through the night.

With resignation, she dropped her phone and hoped to receive any news

*Meanwhile*

Liam was standing in front of his boss wondering what must have triggered the sudden anger.

Was she not properly trained about the rules in this house? Trevor asked in a very irritable tone and Liam realized she must have shown herself before him before this he had not seen Aayla in person all he did was pass the instruction of a new staff to the head steward and that was all.

Was he not to his liking? Did she obsess over him like he is an idol?

He thought to himself, Why has this girl suddenly offended his boss? How the hell is he supposed to give Trevor the reports regarding the sudden shareholders’ meeting arranged by Uncle Anthony

Trevor noticed the disturbed look on his face and said to him, spit it out Liam. He had no choice but to break the news to him, Trevor’s day didn't start out right and this news most definitely wasn't helping his mood.

He headed for his car with Liam throdding quietly behind him, took his freshly blended juice from the table and turned around suddenly bringing Liam’s step to a sudden halt. I want the steward replaced he said…. Trevor could you please just endure this I just replaced her and we have more important issues at the office…Liam grumbled.

Trevor glanced at Liam with a pout you do remember we being friends or you just want to skip the duty of replacing her? I’d just give her this one chance. The cars drove out of the compound and heading for the office.

At the stewards quarters

Aayla lay down while staring at the ceilings with thoughts about how to get another job cause she concluded in her heart that she had lost this one.

Her phone rang and it was addy, Hey babes what’s up with your text, addy sounded worried.

I messed up and it’s my first day I had just finished running his bath and I wanted to head out when he saw me in his room, his rules are he doesn’t want to see anyone or be in the same space as them and on my first day I broke the first rule.

Aayla, that was a harmless mistake, you had no choice, you couldn’t just disappear into thin air come on, cheer up I doubt he’d fire you for something that harmless. It was a mistake.

Nah it’s not that harmless addy, seven previous steward had been sacked just because they frolicked around his space, some out of pure admiration and the haughty ill mannered walking money stack fires them like it’s that much of a big deal, I mean he literally stared through my soul like I am a petty thief and said just two words Get out!! Addy, can you imagine that? Aayla fumed in anger.

Miss Aayla. a Lady’s voice rang from the doorpost Aayla looked up and a middle aged woman was staring at her, It was the head steward

Oh my God Addy I’d call you back she hung up hastily with a guilty smile trying to imagine from what point the lady had walked in.
