She

Kaya Denboro sat up, panting. Her breaths came out in tangled heaps. One after the other, then came a pause where she struggled to get air in and finally out. This ruthless process carried on for the next five minutes until she regained her composure. Sweat dripped down her forehead and onto her old mattress. Her hands were clenched around the rough edges of her small bed, knuckles white. Kaya closed her eyes, listening to the insects of the night if only to find peace for a minute. But her body still betrayed her. She relaxed her facial muscles, but her hands tightened. Her jaw was set. Finally giving up, she opened her eyes to meet the darkness that loomed over the room. It was one of those dreams again. She had woken up but was still caught in the daze of that moment. Kaya lifted a hand up, her fingertips grazed a burning patch of skin. She could feel him. "Kaya... " "Kaya?" "Yes?" "Open your eyes." She stirred and finally opened them to meet a pair of clear and bright emerald eyes. Her breath hitched. The strange boy gave her a crooked smile and something in her urged her to smile back. It wasn't her. Heck, she wasn't even in control. She felt like the audience in her own body. And incredulously, Kaya watched her hand lift up, her palm rubbing against his cheek. She could feel the warmth of his skin. She couldn't get her hand away or resist. It was as if she was caught in her own body as a prisoner. But slowly as she watched her hand travel over his face, up to his unruly curls, she felt a warm fuzzy feeling, churning her insides with longing. 'Who are you?' she wanted to ask, but all that she did was caress him. His eye lids drooped as her fingertips brushed against his eyebrows and then further down his cheekbone and to the edges of his lips. They quirked up in a smile, a dimple appearing in his cheek. Unconsciously, she slid her finger over that tiny dent, rubbing against the smooth surface of his skin. Pale hands contrasting against olive skin, honey-brown eyes starting at his hidden emeralds. Her eyes widened as he started leaning down. She couldn't move herself, but the way the things were going, Kaya didn't think she would have been even if she was given the will power to do so. Her breath caught as their foreheads touched. If you looked close, you'd have seen the sparks. Tiny bubbles that warmed her from head to toe, making her want to stay there forever if that could be. She didn't breath. She didn't blink. She didn't dare do anything. In case, he'll get lost in the second she lost focus. But he was there. Holding her this way, one hand down her waist and another supporting him up. All Kaya did was wait. As his lips inched closer, his scent invaded her senses. She felt herself let go in the ecstasy. How could one feel so good? She knew she was way too far gone when his lips finally touched hers. She knew she'd give in anyway. And that's what happened. Kaya couldn't help but mold herself into him, every piece just seemed to fit so well. He hovered over her, pulling her in and out of extreme ecstasy, every time his lips touched hers and that burning hand on her first moved. And then she felt it. The pain. The extraordinary pain which left her struggling for air. Her head felt like it was going to explode, every cell of her body writhing. Her eyes shot open but as soon as they did, she shut them and tried to go back to it again. But a dream is nothing more than a dream. Isn't it?
