Chapter 9 – Still waters

r. Woods had lost consciousness after reporting the news. Amelia and the other doctors had been keeping him under observation for half an hour in the medical module.
Mr. Stone had gone back to his accommodation, where he had been racking his brain for becoming aware of the facts. The General was sitting on the chair next to his cot, and he was intent on considering what to do. Suddenly he heard a knock on the door.
Mr. Stone bade the one who was behind the door come in. His tone was not so friendly.
“I’m sorry, Sir. All I would like to know is how to proceed,” one of the soldiers told him. It took a few more seconds before he answered, “We can’t do anything but wait.” His answer caused his man’s bewilderment. He tried to object, “Sir, General Ross…”
