Chapter 4 – Last days on Earth

atthew was in his flat in North Philadelphia on that beautiful sunny day. It was Tuesday, and Tuesdays were devoted to some cardio, running along the alley running parallel to the neighborhood. He got ready for his workout. He put on his tracksuit, his trainers and a hat; then he began to run along what was affectionately called “North Filly”.
“Hey, Frank! How are you doing?” the General asked as he saw his trusted greengrocer, who had his shop on the lower floor, while the General lived on the upper floor.
“Matthew, my friend! I’m all right. Take an apple, taste it and tell me these are not the most delicious apples of the town,” the fruit seller replied vigorously. He threw an apple at him who caught it.
