9 It took a day for us to trek to the Thing, and would’ve taken longer, but once I grew tired, Ragnvald swung me up in his arms and ran. As the forest flew by, I caught glimpses of warriors on either side of us, carrying axes and spears and traveling as fast as we were. When Ragnvald stopped, they formed a loose circle around us.
