Chapter 3: Blood and Boundaries Leo’s POV I’ve been the President of this MC for five years. I’ve faced down rival packs, turf wars, and silver-toting hunters without my heart rate ever spiking above a steady hum. But when my little sister’s eyes rolled back in her head and her golden-tan skin felt like it was melting right off her bones, I felt something I hadn't felt since our parents died. Pure, paralyzing terror. She was burning alive. Lucian had taken one look at her glowing eyes and the black veins webbing up her neck and told me what I already knew but didn't want to admit: her wolf wasn't just waking up early. It was colliding with something else—a latent magic in her bloodline—and the sheer force of it was tearing her body apart. The only thing that could ground an awakening that violent was the anchor of a mate. Except she didn't have one mate. She had three. I paced the hardwood floor of the clubhouse hallway, the heavy scent of alpha pheromones thick in the air. Outside Loyalty's bedroom door, Levi stood like a stone gargoyle, his arms crossed over his chest, glaring at the living room. I stopped pacing and looked at the three men standing in the center of my clubhouse. My MC brothers had them surrounded, hands resting casually near their holsters, but the strangers didn't look bothered at all. We’d had to track them down using every favor the club had, finding them at a high-end hotel downtown. They were exactly what Loyalty had felt. The Spanish one—the Wolf—stood with his hands in his pockets, his eyes tracking every movement in the room like a trained Bodyguard. The mixed guy, the Hybrid, was tapping away on a top-tier encrypted phone, looking completely out of place in a biker vest. He had the sharp, calculating energy of a Rich Nerd who owned the building rather than just standing in it. And the Greek... the Vampire. He stood at parade rest like a Soldier, utterly still, his cold eyes locked on the door to my sister's room. "She's stabilizing," Lucian murmured, stepping out of Loyalty's room and shutting the door softly behind him. He rubbed a hand over his face. "Her fever broke the second you three walked into the building. It's the proximity. The bond." The Greek vampire finally moved, his jaw tight. "We need to see her." "You aren't seeing a damn thing until I say so," Levi snarled, taking a step forward. "Levi, stand down," I commanded, though my own chest was tight with a territorial growl I was struggling to swallow. I looked at the three of them. "You're in my house. You're in my territory. I don't care if the Goddess herself tied your souls to my sister's. You so much as breathe wrong, and I will tear you apart. Understood?" The Spanish wolf flashed a gold-eyed smirk. "We didn't come here to fight you, President. We came because our mate is in pain." Loyalty’s POV The first thing I registered was the cold. Someone had stripped off my heavy leather jacket and boots, and I was lying on top of my own bedsheets with a damp, ice-cold towel draped over my forehead and neck. The agonizing, bone-melting fire that had consumed me in the yard was gone, replaced by a deep, rhythmic hum under my skin. I took a slow breath, and my eyes shot open. The world was entirely different. The shadows in my room weren't just dark patches; they had texture and depth. I could hear the hum of the refrigerator three rooms away. And the smells... God, the smells. I could smell Leo's protective anger, sharp like burnt copper. I smelled Levi's aggression and Lucian's anxious sweat. But cutting through all of it—woven together into a scent so intoxicating it made my mouth water—were three distinct trails of gravity. Rain and ozone. Rich, dark earth and cedar. Electric static and expensive cologne. They're here. I sat up, the damp towel falling to my lap. My body didn't ache anymore; it felt coiled, powerful, and desperate. The magic and the wolf inside me had stopped fighting each other and were now completely focused on one thing: getting to the other side of my bedroom door. I swung my legs out of bed. I was only wearing my tank top and jeans, but I didn't care. I padded barefoot across the floor, my steps completely silent in a way they had never been before. I pressed my hand flat against the heavy oak door. I could hear the low, dangerous rumble of my brothers' voices arguing with the strangers in the living room. Leo was laying down the law, trying to maintain control over a situation that had already spiraled out of his hands. My heart pounded against my ribs, a heavy, demanding thud. I wrapped my fingers around the doorknob. The cold metal felt grounding. I knew the second I opened this door, there was no going back to the way things were. I wasn't just the MC President's little sister anymore. I turned the knob and pulled the door open. The heavy silence that crashed over the room was deafening. Every head in the living room snapped toward me. My brothers looked terrified and relieved all at once, but my eyes didn't stop on them. My gaze locked onto the three men standing in the center of the room, and my inner wolf let out a happy, possessive purr. The moment I stepped into the room, the air seemed to vibrate with a high-frequency hum. My brothers froze, their faces a mixture of shock and awe. They had never seen me like this. I wasn't just Loyalty anymore. I was a vessel for something ancient. My vision shifted. My eyes, which had always been a steady hazel, began to swirl with a deep, emerald green—the color of a thick forest at midnight. But as my gaze landed on the three men, the green began to glow, turning a luminescent, pale silver, mimicking the color of the moon outside the window. I didn't speak. I didn't have to. My wolf didn't just want to be seen; she wanted to be known. Suddenly, a voice that wasn't entirely my own—deeper, more melodic, and echoing with power—vibrated through the room. It felt like my wolf and my human self were speaking in a perfect, haunting harmony. "I am the Moon’s promise," the voice resonated, making the glasses on the bar rattle. "I am the shadow of the MC and the light of the pack. I am Loyalty, and I have been waiting for the three parts of my soul to find their way home." The effect was instantaneous. The three men didn't just look at me; they reacted. The Greek vampire, the Soldier, dropped his head in a silent, respectful bow, his eyes burning with a dark, ancient hunger. "I am Dimitri," he murmured, his voice like velvet over gravel. "I have fought a thousand wars, but I have never seen a vision as beautiful as you." The mixed-race hybrid, the Rich Nerd, pushed his glasses up his nose, but his hand was trembling. His eyes were wide, tracking the shifting colors of my gaze with a scientific fascination that quickly turned into pure, raw devotion. "I'm Jax," he breathed. "I've spent my life calculating every variable, but you... you are the only constant I ever wanted." Finally, the Spanish wolf, the Bodyguard, took a bold step forward, his own eyes flashing that brilliant gold. He didn't bow; he claimed. "And I'm Mateo," he growled, the sound vibrating in his chest. "I was sent to protect many things, Loyalty, but I’ve spent my whole life guarding a heart that was waiting for you." My eyes shifted again, the moon-silver bleeding into a fiery, sunset orange as a wave of possessive heat washed over me. I wasn't scared of them. I was hungry for them. "Enough talk," my wolf’s voice purred, the sound low and dangerous. I moved before my brothers could react. In a blur of speed that left Leo reaching for air, I was across the room. I didn't stop until I was standing right in the center of the three of them, the combined scent of rain, cedar, and ozone hitting me like a physical blow. Leo’s hand went to his holster, his face pale-skinned and panicked. "Loyalty, get back here!" I didn't even look at him. I reached out, my fingers grazing Mateo’s jaw, Dimitri’s shoulder, and Jax’s chest all at once. The contact felt like a lightning strike, a weld of magic and wolf that finally, finally made me feel whole. "They are mine, Leo," I said, my voice returning to its normal pitch but still carrying that emerald-green weight. "And if you try to take them from me, you’ll find out exactly what I learned in those kickboxing classes."
