A piercing siren abruptly shattered the peaceful ambiance of the kingdom, causing me to jump in surprise. Maeve, sensing the imminent danger, immediately went on high alert. "What's that?" I asked, my heart racing in my chest.
"It means danger, all warriors within the kingdom must gather. There's a safe room in the estate, I'll take you there." Maeve said to me.
Just as the loud siren subsided, a forceful knock reverberated through the door. Maeve hurriedly went to investigate. Maple, with a worried expression on her face, entered the room. "What's going on? Did the enemy breach the barrier?" I inquired, my voice filled with trepidation.
Maple shook her head. "No, I would have sensed it. I came to make sure you were okay," she reassured me.
