Chapter 3: His Decision

1116 Words
Not long after, Cristian arrived home and found Sebastian and Lola's unending bickering. He found it amusing and refreshing at the same time. "Wow! What a sight. Get a room, you two," Cristian mockingly said. The two stopped wrestling and looked in Cristian's direction and decided to fix themselves. Sebastian hissed, looking at Lola and said, "And here I am thinking that you have matured enough." He smirked and walked straight to the kitchen. Lola was dumbfounded and scoffed. "What? Look who's talking. Right Cristian?" Lola replied as she looked in Cristian's direction, who was taking off his shirt boldly. Lola instantly avoided the sight. She forgot the brothers were fine young men now. Cristian just shook his head and left without a comment. Lola sighed. Cristian came back with a towel covering his lower body, topless. He was about to go straight to take a shower but decided to say something to Lola. "Right, I love your car Lola. Can I borrow it tomorrow?" Cristian said, but before Lola could say anything, Sebastian interrupted. "Look, who's confident about borrowing someone's car without a driver's license?" he mockingly said as he threw him a banana peel. Cristian just shook his head and proceeded to the bathroom. Lola went to the kitchen where Sebastian was. She sat on one of the stools and asked, "I know I just got here, but what do you have for dinner? I'm dying. I need something to eat." "As much as I want to prepare your food, I'm afraid that I look too filthy to even dare touch a single grain of your food, Milady," he replied. He was still in his sweaty shirt and pants. Lola pouted and remembered the old times they shared together. It was her who always bullied him, but it sounded like she's the one being bullied now. Sebastian ate his last bite of his banana. He then went straight to the sink and washed his hands first before opening his fridge to find something to eat for dinner. On her seat, Lola placed her chin on top of both her hands and studied Sebastian's back. She noticed his broad shoulders and biceps. She was about to get drowned with her thoughts when her phone rang. It was her Mom calling. She answered, "Hello, mom?" Catherine was hysterical after what she heard about the minor collision. Their family lawyer also called her to clarify about the payment for someone's car repair. Sebastian was silently listening while he was chopping the ingredients for a curry. "Mom, I'm good. Everything was fine, I already handled everything. There is nothing to worry about," she assured her mom. Catherine tried persuading her to come back home but Lola declined. "I thought we already talked about this mom. Besides, Cristian was there. He rescued me," Lola said. Catherine was shocked to hear something about the boys. "You found Elise's sons?" Catherine replied, surprised by Lola's news. Sebastian felt his heart breaking after hearing Catherine mentioning his mother's name. He sighed and walked closer to Lola, "Yes. Your daughter found us, Mrs. White." Sebastian butted in. Catherine was so surprised and gasped. "Sebastian, is that really you?" Catherine asked. "Oh my God. This is very good news. Come back to us Sebastian, everything is good now." Sebastian knew they couldn't go back to the way they used to live. He faintly smiled and looked at Lola with apologetic eyes. Looking at Sebastian, Lola figured she had to answer her mother instead of him. "Mom, we'll talk again later, okay?" Lola said and bid goodbye to her mom. Sebastian went back to his position and started cooking. Lola noticed the ambiance inside the house, so, she chose to remain silent. Catherine was on cloud nine after hearing the good news from her daughter, Lola. "What's the matter, hon?" Arthur asked his wife after seeing the sight of her jumping out of joy. Catherine looked at him and replied, "She did it. Lola did it. Our daughter did!" Arthur walked closer to his wife and said, "That's good news. Everything will be alright. We won't fail Elise this time. You can fulfill your promise to her." The two hugged each other. Arthur decided to visit Ethan, his friend at the orphanage, to deliver the good news. After a few minutes, Cristian came out of the bathroom, completely dressed this time, and went straight to the kitchen after smelling what his brother, Sebastian, prepared for dinner. He sat beside Lola's and anxiously knocked on the table using his fingers. "That smells good, brother." Sebastian shook his head and replied, "As if you haven't tried my cooking ever since." Cristian looked at Lola and said, " Have you tried his food before? You might fall, Lola." Lola laughed at what Cristian said. In fact, she was once head-over-heels for Sebastian. But it's not like it's something everyone knew about. "Oh really? I bet," Lola replied. Cristian stood and asked Lola for her car keys to get her things in the car. Lola gave it to him and gladly appreciated his gesture. When he came back, he asked, "Why did you bring a lot of things, Lola? Are you staying here for good?" he mocked. Sebastian directed them to be seated on the chairs at the table. "Dinner's ready," he added. Lola was surprised by Sebastian's cooking skills. It indeed can make anyone fall for him. After finishing their meals, Lola figured that it was time for her to talk to them about her intentions. "The two of you should come back to Inswei." Cristian was surprised. Sebastian, on the other hand, had already predicted that it was something about asking them to come back. He wasn't surprised at all. "Lola, it's not that easy," Cristian replied. "But..." He interrupted her, "You can't just ask us to come back after all these years. We've adjusted and this is our home now," he added. Lola was speechless. She looked at Sebastian. But he's calm. He looked back at her and said, "I had already predicted your intentions earlier. I'm just listening to what Cristian wants to react about the matter. He's right. This is our home now, Lola." "I-I-I want to help. My parents want to help you too. In fact, they've been so worried about the two of you. You know you can count on us," Sebastian sighed. "You know nothing is going to change this time. What was being done was done. We can't just undo it. You know that," Cristian added. Sebastian stood and excused himself. He went to the bathroom to take a hot shower. Cristian stayed to direct her to her room, temporarily.
