She bursted through the revolving door and returning greetings, she ran into the elevator and took it to the office.
"Coffee's here," she announced to the owner of the office, a black haired lady.
She handed it to the lady.
"Thanks," the owner repiled. "Is it still at Tanner's you got it?"
"Yeah. I wondered why you were reluctant to go,"the first lady who was a blonde said.
"The new waiter upset me. He was rude,"the owner repiled.
"I saw a new one. A charming sweet-looking one," the blonde said.
The owner flared up. "You mean that obnoxious fool. Oh he's so stupid."
The blonde choked on her coffee. "What do you mean, Ms Morgan? How did he offend you?"
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Well personally I think he's really attractive really and you probably blushed when you saw him. You get flushed quickly you know," the blonde teased and did the eyebrows waggle
"Sandra!" Morgan bursted."Stop teasing me, ok. He was rude and I hated him because of that. I mean I hated him at first sight."
Sandra was going to continue when they heard a knock.
"Come in,"Morgan ordered.
"Ms. Morgan, your father wishes to see you,"the messenger said and disappeared from the office.
"Let's go Sandra,"Morgan said and they walked out of the office.
Mr.Edgecombe was sitting staring at a newspaper with his spectacles on in his office waiting for Morgan. It was a large office with two chairs and two sopfas. Previous CEOs picture in golden frame were hung across the room. There were little books on the table and a lamp. He looked at his wristwatch and they came in. Sandra stopped a few steps after the door but Morgan moved forward and sat down.
Mr.Edgecombe put away the newspaper and his face lit up with a smile."Welcome my dearest Morgan,"he said. "Morning,Father,"Morgan repiled."What is the reason for my being called upon?"
"It's high time you got a PA,"he started."Pickone of the faithful people around you. A business person is incomplete without a personal assistant."
Morgan rested her back on the chair."Well I haven't found one. I like Sandra being my secretary although she does the work of my PA but I'll only like to call her a secretary,"she said.
"so you're saying you haven't found one in this whole organisation?"Mr.Edgecombe asked suprised.
"Yep,"she said."and now don't say I resemble my mom."
"you know I will," mr.Edgecombe laughed."wellfind one fast."
As i walked home that night, warm breeze brushed on my face. The only source of light now was the full moon, street lamps and light from bulb and it was less crowdy.
From the distance, I saw a woman holding her little girl as they sauntered and another man jogging downtown.
I was humming a song as i walked now half conscious of my environment.
...I'm not your son and you're not my father;we're just two grown up saying goodbye,no need to forgive,no need to forget...
But I stopped when I saw movements in a dark alley. It dawned on me that I was in a deserted street now and had been too absorbed in my song to realise earlier. As I moved closer,I began hearing voices.
"I'm going to teach your father some manners.Don't worry you'll only be a scapegoat,"amale husky voice said.
"Yeah it will stain his reputation. He'll be ridiculed,"another said.
I heard a female scream and I rushed in the shadows without thinking. I could see them their figures now
"Stop!" I said."Will you see what you are doing?"
"Who are you,"one asked.
"I mean do you care to see how dirty what you are doing is," I said calmly.
One has already raised his fist and was coming to me."why you bastard..."
I dodged his punch and moved back.
"Waoh! Easy man,"I said."You almost got my handsome face ruined."
He swung his fist at me again and I dodged and twisted his hand before elbowing his face
The other ran at me and I dug my fist into his stomach and kicked his forehead. They grunted and ran away while I stretched.
"Are you okay?"I asked peering into the darkness. " Come on out."
I heard footsteps and following it I came out of the darkness. I saw recognition dawn in her eyes at the same time it dawned in my mind.
"Putin Global?" left my mouth.
"Rude waiter?" She was startled.
Then I put on a smirk. "Fancy meeting you here."
Out of the blues, she stamped on my foot.
"No thank you!" She said as I held my foot before walking away.
"You!" I bursted. "I saved you. Wait till I get you!"
