Judy’s POV The next morning came quietly. Too quietly. The hospital room was filled with soft morning light, and for the first time in days, I didn’t wake up with fear squeezing my chest. I opened my eyes slowly and listened to the sound of my mother’s breathing. She was sleeping. Peacefully. That alone felt like a miracle. Sophia was curled up on the small couch beside the window, her phone resting on her chest. She had refused to leave our side the whole night. Even when I told her to go home and rest, she said no. “I’m not leaving you people,” she said. “If you want to chase me, carry me,or better still call ambulance to take me home”.
