The Change

POV Alex

The tingling sensation had finally subsided, I'd gotten up on my own and made it into the bathroom to wash my face. My senses felt sharper than ever before, I could smell lunch being made somewhere in the hospital, I could sense each time the nurse was about to enter my room. I haven't noticed any magnificent changes that I'd been warned might take place after I'd finished my IV. One of the nurses had been kind enough to bring me a hairbrush so I could untangle the knots that had managed their way into my hair since yesterday. Changing into real clothes, I felt almost normal again as I sat back on my bed and waited for lunch. All of a sudden the most amazing scent filled my room, my skin prickled, and my heart felt as if it may explode out of my chest.Oh no was with one of the changes, the doctor warned me about?

I could hear voices outside of my room, but above my heartbeat I couldn't make out who they belonged to. My door opened and in walked Tytus, I nearly jumped out of my skin I was so happy to see him. I could feel his worry as I wrapped my arms around his neck, he pulled me closer and then stepped back. "I brought you something" he said as he pulled Stella out from around his back. I smiled and took my beautiful little flower from him and placed it on my end table. "Oh thank you, I know you think I'm crazy over this thing but" he hushed me before I could finish. "How are you feeling?" he said with a smile. "I'm okay, I'm ready to go home but I think I may need to stay a little longer" I looked away. "Alex what is going on? If you want to go we will go" Tytus declared. Just then Kyle walked in and smiled, "Hey Alex you doin okay?" "Yea you know couldn't be better" I laughed. "Zander is talking to the doctor now to see about moving you to the pack house" Kyle said. "She wants to go home, and that's where I plan to take her, no sense in her staying if the doctor says she can leave" Tytus stated. "Ty its not that simple" I said while putting my hand on his arm. Just then Zander stormed through the doors eyes as black as midnight, growling at Tytus, "Get your hands off of her!" he boomed. That smell, that perfect mix of timber with a smokey earthyness, my heart pounded as I left Tytus' side and found myself pressed against Zander's chest. Zander wrapped his arms around me and lifted me into the air until I was eye level with him, I ran my fingers into his dark brown hair, I heard a low groan come from his chest as he pulled me in closer to kiss me. "WHAT THE f**k!" Tytus yelled, "What the f**k did you do to her! You piece of shi--" Kyle pushed Tytus into the chair blocking him from standing, Kyle may have been shorter than Ty but he was much stronger even though Tytus would never admit it. 

Zander gently placed me back on my feet but did not remove his grasp from around me. "Someone better tell me what the f**k is going on" Tytus demanded. Zander looked down at me and then towards the table where my plant was now sitting, "are you ready to head to the house now that your plant has made it here in one piece my dear?" "Yes but I think you'll be much better at explaining all this then I am" I looked up at him and said. "Lets go back to the Pack house, had I known this was going to happen I would have had you wait there from the start so I do apologize for that" Zander said very politely. "No you're going to tell me now or I'm picking her up and taking her home myself" Tytus demanded. At the threat Zander growled and charged towards Tytus pushing me behind him. "STOP!" I yelled. All the men froze looking back at me, "I'm a werewolf Ty a werewolf", I began to sob. "What no you aren't, there's no way" Tytus was startled. Kyle looked at Tytus, "Lets go back to the pack house so we can discuss this more privately." Tytus stormed past me and out of the hospital towards the house, Kyle gave Zander a look and a nod and quickly followed after. 

POV Zander

 Her scent was intoxicating, when I stood outside her door, my wolf almost rose to the surface growling "MATE!"  Walking through that door seeing that man touching her was too much and at that moment I walked to snap his neck. Now standing here looking down into my little pixies eyes I couldn't be happier. As an Alpha I was expected to have a mate, I'd almost lost hope in finding her as most wolves find their mates soon after they come of age. I knew I would have to work hard to keep her safe, someone had tried to hide her away from me, I just needed to find out who and why. "Don't forget Stella" Alex said breaking me from my own thoughts. I smirked and grabbed her little plant as I took her hand to lead her from the hospital. "Dr. Gable will be by later to check on you at the house" I said watching this beautiful little creature walking beside me. Alex looked up at me with a nod, "Is this a normal change when becoming a wolf, I mean the warmth?" I looked at her intently then realized what she was asking. "Yes and No, all wolves know they will experience this but it is not something that happens at the change" I tried to smile softly, "it only happens when a wolf meets their mate." Her eyes searched mine for answers, I could see the answers come to the front, and when it did a twinkle danced within them. She stopped in her tracks, "are you okay, do you need me to carry you the rest of the way?" I quickly asked. "No I'm fine, I, I'd like to kiss you again" she said. I instantly lifted her chin, and gently kissed her lips, I heard a soft moan escape her mouth, which drove my wolf wild, I wrapped her deeper in my arms and kissed down her neck, nipping at the base of her neck where I intend to leave my mark. Alex clawed her nails into my back, and bit my ear causing a low growl, that seemed to entice her and she furiously grabbed for my face and and kissed me harder, I thought for a moment I would take her right here, but pushed the thought from my head and pulled away. You could tell it surprised Alex as she looked at me like she'd done something wrong. Before she could say a word, I kissed her hand, "No darling, but don't you think we've left Kyle and Tytus in my office long enough?"
