Mr. and Mrs. Stone

    "Why did they leave me?" Alex questioned softly. I wanted to scoop her up and just retreat back to our room to keep her safe from anything else that could potentially cause her harm. My dad's eyes softened, in fact I'd never seen his expression as gentle as it was looking at Alex right now. "Oh honey they didn't want to, they would have never left you if they had a choice, I promise we did everything we could" my father's voice trailed off. "We? Dad did you help them leave? From my understanding council said they disappeared one night" I sternly questioned. "Yes, your mother and I helped them slip out of the territory undetected, now after that I can't say what happened, only everything prior. I was not just Miles Beta son, he was my best friend" my father had sadness in his voice. "Did my parents remove my wolf before they left?" Alex spoke up. My mother and father looked at each other, "remove your wolf?" my mother asked. "Yes we only discovered Alex was a wolf when she came into the territory and the protection spell caused her to collapse, Dr. Gable was able to give her an antidote reversing the spell" I explained. "Your mother must have wanted to hide you away completely before they left" my mother said. "Something must have happened after they left here for Selena to become so desperate, darling your parents were devoted to your every move, they never would have left you or removed your wolf had it not been for a good reason" my mother continued. "She's right, you were their life, Miles turned the Pack over to me immediately after finding out they were pregnant, he didn't want to miss a second of it, our Pack's went through hell in the weeks leading up to them leaving in attempt to protect your mother and you" my father stated. "Is there anything else we need to know Dad, could Alex still be in danger?" I was concerned I could see the tension in my father. "I can't say for certain who the threat would be, but I can promise you this if Miles Stone left his daughter at an orphanage and Selena felt so strongly that she hid away the one thing that could also protect her, then she is most definitely still in danger" my father declared. "Wait I don't understand, if Alex is just a wolf why did she glitter like a Christmas tree when that box was opened?" Kyle spoke up. I groaned, its not that I didn't wonder the same thing but I'd almost forgotten he was in the room, and I wasn't sure Alex or myself was ready to hear anymore of this, I knew what her mother was but she still didn't, but what did that make Alex?

Thankfully that seemed to cut the tension in the room, but Alex looked shocked, "what do you mean I glittered?" she said. "You fuckin looked like you swam through a glitter pool" Kyle declared. Alex looked at me in disbelief. "I only saw your mother do it once" my father began, "and it was to protect you during an attack." My father leaned towards Alex taking her hand in his, yep this can't be good he was not the touchy-feely type. "Your mother was what we called The White Wolf, the goddess of winter, the Moon Goddess sent her herself to the Silver Springs Pack, we were never sure why until she found her mate in Miles, the Stone family had always been rumored to be blessed generations ago, it wasn't until you were one that we discovered you as well were special. Honestly I'll never forget it" my father chuckled lost in his memory, "you hiccuped and turned remote into a butterfly, you giggled chasing it around the room, as the four of us sat in shock" his eyes met Alex's and then moved to mine before focusing back on Alex who was focused on his every breath, "you are The Morrighan." I sat back on the couch, folklore of my childhood was coming to life, and some how the Goddess selected me to be this woman's mate, how had my parent's kept this from me, surely as Alpha I should have known about a long standing threat to our pack.

"What about the gem?" Alex asked, apparently ignoring that my father had just declared that she not only had magic but was the daughter of a goddess. "Your mother had said it enhanced her powers and had been given it before being sent to Silver Springs for protection from the Moon Goddess, the problem was not only did it enhance her powers but it seemed to be a beacon to any dark magic that could feel the energy it possessed. The box your mother enchanted to keep it hidden, she must have done similarly to your wolf sometime after leaving here" my father explained. Alex looked at my mother, "Josie do you think I could have another lemonade?" she asked sweetly. "Of course dear" my mother said as she took Alex's hand leading her into the kitchen.

POV Alex

    I was trying to memorize everything Zeke had told me about my parents, I couldn't focus he had told me so many things, he knew more about me than I ever had. Thank goodness for Josiphine I needed a break, her presence calmed me, this must be where Zander gets it from I thought."Tell me you and Zeke met" I asked, I wanted to think of something else for a little bit, everything that's happened in the last 24hrs was overwhelming. Josie's eyes sparkled, she looked like a girl with a school yard crush. "That man had chased my tail since we were pups, he's just lucky the Moon Goddess fell in his favor" she smiled "Don't tell him but I'd had a crush on him since primary school." "Oh like I didn't know!" Zeke walked in snickering "she would sit watching warrior training for hours." "I could have been there for anyone" Josie rolled her eyes. "How did you and Zander meet since you clearly met before you knew you were a wolf?" Josie inquired. I looked towards where Zander was leaning in the doorway hoping he had an answer other than he wanted to hire a spy and I followed him home. "Umm well-"I began. "Kyle introduced us" Zander quickly spoke up, oh thank god. "He always has known how to pick the right ones" Josie smiled. Zander's face quickly furrowed just as Kyle walked in behind him catching an elbow to the ribs. "Ugh" Kyle huffed. "Oh stop it Zander, if it weren't for his keen sense this beautiful woman might have escaped you entirely" Josie reprimanded. Kyle smirked towards Zander walking past him planting a kiss on Josie's cheek. Zander groaned. Zeke must have read the male body language happening at the moment, and shot Zander a glance, "Not to pry son, but have you?" Has he what? I glanced between them. "No" a low grumbled of an answer made its way from Zander's lips. Ohhhhhhh, I'd nearly forgotten the whole sealing of the bond thing. "I wouldn't wait too long, if I remember correctly, her mother's heat began almost immediately after finding Miles" Zeke said giving Zander a look. "I'm sure its been a long day dear do you want to stay here for the night?" Josie asked. "I'd rather her be on the main compound, the safest place for her is the Pack House" Zander replied before I could get a word out. "Speaking of its getting late, why don't we head back?" Zander said looking at me. "We will be up tomorrow, I'm sure your mother would like time with Alex and you and I can meet with the council" Zeke stated. 

At that we stood and said our goodbyes, walking back across the grounds, Zander seemed to hold my hand tighter than before. A wave of flames rushed over my skin, sweat dripped down my forehead and I doubled in pain, "Agh" I cried out. "s**t" I heard Zander exclaim. I looked up to see if I could grab onto Zander to help me stand back up, and saw him nose to nose with Kyle both their eyes were black teeth bared and their fangs growing longer. At the moment I thought they were about to draw blood a large auburn wolf ran in scooping me onto its back darting towards the pack house. I clung on for dear life, but my body felt like it was melting I couldn't take this much longer. We arrived at the house and there was a fury of women running about, the wolf carried me all the way to Zander's bathroom lowering me down in front of the tub. It had been filled to the brim, the wolf stepped back shifting into human form quickly grabbing the robe off the door, Zeke was standing in the doorway almost naked. Had I not been in crippling pain I would have surely logged this into memory, he may have been Zander's dad but he was cut like a greek god! "The bath will help" he smiled. "How did you?" I didn't even know what to ask. "I may be a mated male but I can smell a female in heat for miles, I knew the boys would be in trouble if they got stuck in the field with you, I linked the Omegas to run a cold bath, it will help with the heat" he explained. "What about Kyle and Zander?" I asked slipping myself into the freezing water, I was so hot I didn't even care to strip into my underwear in front of Zeke in order to get some relief. "They'll be okay in a few minutes, until you bond with Zander, you are essentially fair game to any un-mated male in the area, your scent will drive them mad and they will kill eachother to get in your pants, literally" Zeke replied. Another blast of heat was radiating through me, Zeke walked over with a cold rag and placed it on my forehead, "I know there's alot going on, and I can tell by the incident in the kitchen that there's some sort of history I don't know about, but I want you to know both of them are good men, good strong loyal men" he looked me deep in the eyes, "you won't make a wrong choice between them, but I'd be lying to say I'm not hoping that Miles' little girl will be my future daughter-in-law." His eyes were so caring and warm, I was thankful Zeke came when he did, but I was worried about what happened between Kyle and Zander. "I'll go find your knuckleheads" Zeke stated as he stood up.

The water felt great, the pain was slowly subsiding, but my skin still felt boiling whenever it was exposed to the air. A few Omegas had came in and out checking on me and changing the cool rag Zeke had left on my forehead. I nearly nodded off when Zander appeared in the doorway. "So sorry pixie, I'll let you rest, you just looked so beautiful I couldn't help but stare" he said apologetically. "Please don't go" I quickly responded "will you help me out?" Zander walked towards the tub and extended a towel, I stepped out of the tub, and he wrapped me up scooping me into his arms and carrying me into bed. After placing me gently on the bed, he walked into his closet returning with one of his shirts. Zander slid it over my head and I put my arms through, he ran his hand through my hair pulling it out of the neck letting it fall behind me in a mess, he took the towel back into the bathroom and quickly returned with a bottle of lotion, that was definitely not in there this morning I thought. He sat on the bed and draped my legs over his lap, quietly he began lotioning up and down my legs, massaging my feet and calves. Mmmmm my eyes began to close. "I'm sorry for earlier" his voice sounded different, "I just-" "Shhhh your father explained it all to me, just tell me you didn't kill Kyle?" I asked. He searched my eyes for an answer to a question he never asked, "No I didn't kill him" Zander finally replied. "Why don't you rest, I'll go sleep in the room next door so you can-" "please stay" my voice almost cracked. "I don't want to do anything I'd regret Angel, my wolf wants to claim you and I don't know how long I can keep him at bay when you smell soo sweet" Zander's eyes flashed as he inhaled. I knew I was being selfish but I didn't want to be alone tonight and he made me feel safe. "Can you please try?" I looked at him with pleading eyes. "I'll do my best" Zander said. I laid back on the pillow, rolling onto my side, realizing he wasn't moving I peaked an eye open, "come on" I ordered. Zander positioned himself behind me only touching me with the arm draped over my waist, I wiggled myself back into him and inhaled his scent relishing in his warm body, mmmmmm I moaned. I heard Zander hold his breath and slowly exhale as he did I could feel his need for me pressed against my ass. "Alex" Zander said with a low intense growl. "Yes?" I asked with a smile. "Don't move another inch." I shifted my leg ever so slightly so my knee could fall onto the mattress, tilting my hips around. Zander moaned "This is going to be a long night."
